SWE`s engineers perform analysis on batteries that have discharge or other failures. The analysis includes the status of the cell, pressure seals and vents, and materials. Improper specified tolerances can be responsible for many potential failures which are also analyzed. All cells are checked for aging, uncontrolled operating conditions, abuse, and any other external factors. Our stringent demands ensure we deliver a quality product.

Lithium batteries require proper recycling. SWE follows the Federal Regulations of the United States that govern the transportation of primary (non-rechargeable) lithium and rechargeable lithium-ion and lithium polymer batteries. Please refer to Part 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations, (49 CFR Sections 100-185) of the US Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) and EPA Guidelines (Title 40 Part 273). As a service to our customers, SWE offers safe handling of your battery recycling needs in accordance with Federal Regulations for ground shipments. SWE supplies UN-specification crates to your location. Batteries are then packed in our custom designed container and ground shipped to SWE, where arrangements for recycling are handled with strict adherence to regulations.

Expertise in regulations is a value added service for customers; SWE takes pride in our commitment to industry leadership regarding the importance of ensuring compliance with the constantly evolving DOT Hazmat shipping regulations. We provide UN certified Department of Transportation shipping containers that comply with the regulations, while making sure that our shipping personnel are trained and operating according to these regulations.
