When circumstance dictates, SpecDrum drive drum pulleys can be Ceramic Lagged as per our customers request. At SpecDrum we cold bond the ceramic lagging to the drive drum pulley using only specialised and trusted adhesives. Ceramic Lagging is usually used by a client to solve traction or abrasion related issues, achieving up to as much as five times higher co-efficient of friction than that of purely rubber to rubber.

Tail Drum Pulleys are manufactured from one piece rolled steel and all are machined with a standard crown face unless otherwise specified. Our Tail Drum Pulleys are fabricated to exact dimensions as per engineered drawings; and, we can fit any kind of shaft locking mechanism as specified by the client to our Tail Drum Pulleys.

We have the expertise and ability to manufacture Wing Pulleys to extremely fine tolerances. Our clients specify Wing Pulleys when there is a possibility of build up of excess material between the surface of the pulley and the belt. By expelling this excess material, the Wing Pulley enhances traction and reduces abrasion of both the belt and the pulley, thus ultimately increasing the the lifespan of both components. We construct our Wing Pulleys from only the best sourced high quality materials, and all are completely fabricated within our purpose-built facilities in Ireland and China.

These pulleys are formed by two flat bars helically wound towards one another and welded to all wings, with intervals between them to allow excess material to be discharged to the side of the conveyor. The principle of this type of pulley is similar to the standard wing pulley, this design promotes continuous contact between the pulley and the belt during operation, thus eliminating excessive noise and vibration without sacrificing the self-cleaning action. SpecDrum Spiral Wing Pulleys offer the same aggressive construction as our other self-cleaning wing pulleys, but incorporating a ‘screw conveyor’ design this provides for the ultimate cleaning action.
