Inconel- High Performance Alloys
Inconel - High Performance Alloys
INCONEL (nickel-chromium-iron) alloy 600 (UNS N06600/W.Nr. 2.4816) is a standard engineering material for applications which require resistance to corrosion and heat. The alloy also has excellent mechanical properties and presents the desirable combination of high strength and good workability.
Inconel - High Performance Alloys
INCONEL alloy 617 (UNS N06617/W.Nr. 2.4663a) is a solid-solution, strengthened, nickel-chromium-cobaltmolybdenum alloy with an exceptional combination of high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance. The alloy also has excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments, and it is readily formed and welded by conventional techniques.

Monel - High Performance Alloys
MONFI nickel-copper alloy 41)0 (UNS N04400/ W.Nr. 2.4360 and 2.4361) is a solid-solution alloy that can be hardened only by cold working. It has high strength and toughness over a wide temperature range and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. Composition is shown in Table 1. Alloy 400 is widely used in many fields, especially marine and chemical processing, `typical applications arc valves and pumps; pump and propeller shafts; marine fixtures and fasteners; electrical and electronic components; springs; chemical processing equipment; gasoline and fresh water tanks; crude petroleum stills, process vessels and piping; boiler feedwater heaters and other heat exchangers; and deaerating heaters.
Monel - High Performance Alloys
MONEL nickel-copper alloy R-405 (UNS N04405) is the free-machining grade of alloy 400. Its greater sulfur content enhances machinability. It has essentially the same corrosion resistance and physical properties as alloy 400. but a slightly different range of mechanical properties. Alloy R-405 is used chiefly for automatic-screw-machine stock and is not generally recommended for other applications. The composition is shown in Table 1. Thermal expansion of alloy R-405 is shown in Table 2. The values for physical constants and other thermal properties of MONEL alloy 400 may be used for MONEL allov R-405 and are shown in Tables 3 and 4.
Udimet/Udimar - High Performance Alloys
Udimet - High Performance Alloys
UDIMET alloy 188 (UNS R30188) is a cobalt-base alloy with excellent high-temperature strength and good oxidation resistance to 2000°F (1093°C). The high chromium level coupled with small additions of lanthanum produce an extremely tenacious and protective scale. The alloy also has good sulfidation resistance and excellent metallurgical stability as displayed by its good ductility after prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures. Good fabricability and weldability combine to make the alloy useful in gas turbine applications such as combustors, flame holders, liners and transition ducts.

Special Metals INCONEL - Alloy
INCONEL® (nickel-chromium-iron) alloy 600 (UNS N06600/W.Nr. 2.4816) is a standard engineering material for applications which require resistance to corrosion and heat. The alloy also has excellent mechanical properties and presents the desirable combination of high strength and good workability. The limiting chemical composition of INCONEL alloy 600 is shown in Table 1. The high nickel content gives the alloy resistance to corrosion by many organic and inorganic compounds and also makes it virtually immune to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking. Chromium confers resistance to sulfur compounds and also provides resistance to oxidizing conditions at high temperatures or in corrosive solutions. The alloy is not precipitation hardenable; it is hardened and strengthened only by cold work.
