Spiral-Engineering - Spiral Screw Press

The Spiral Press is composed of a shaftless spiral screw that conveys material in a pressing zone for compacting and dewatering. The spiral screw applies pressure within the press zone which is enclosed in a wedge wire basket. Material is retained at the end by a press door using weights, spring hinges or cylinders. Presses are inclined installations and have a drainage zone for extracted water.

The Spiral Compactor is composed of a shafted spiral screw that conveys material in the compaction area. The spiral screw applies strong pressure within the compaction zone, pushing the material into a friction pipe. The end of the spiral shaft is supported by compacted material. Some models also have a drainage zone to extract water.

The Spiral Sand Separator is designed to collect grit or other types of heavier sediment particles and separate them from water and organic material. Water to be cleaned passes through the charging inlet and is let into the decantation hopper, where an underflow baffle will create an even laminar flow for the sedimentation of solid particles. The shaftless spiral screw will transport the washed sediment sand at a low speed of rotation to a collection container, and the treated water comes out of the discharge spout.

The spirals are in general made of high strength low alloy steel at different flight thickness, but other materials can be used like AISI, ASTM, 4140, 8620, SS304L, SS316L, incoloy, hardox and even aluminium, to name a few.
