Custom High Voltage Pulse Modulators

Stangenes - Valhalla Klystron Modulators

The Valhalla Klystron Modulators by Stangenes Industries Inc. are high-performance devices engineered to drive klystrons with precision. Designed to handle input voltages ranging from 40 to 130 kV and currents between 30 to 100 A, these modulators provide a peak RF power output of 5.1 MW and a solid peak modulator power of 13 MW. They are capable of delivering an average modulator power of 24 kW, emphasizing their capacity in demanding applications. Operating at frequencies up to 400 Hz, the modulators offer pulse widths between 1 to 10 microseconds, maintaining a flat-top deviation below 0.2% per microsecond. Control is facilitated via MODBUS over Ethernet, ensuring versatile integration into various systems. Cooling is achieved through water systems, and the units are socketed in oil-filled pulse transformer tanks for optimal operation. The modulators are RoHS compliant, with input requirements of 400 to 480 V AC and 3-phase configuration, housed in a separate 7U rack.

Stangenes Industries - Custom Electromagnets and Coils

Stangenes Industries specializes in creating customized electromagnets for diverse applications by simulating, designing, manufacturing, and testing AC, DC, and pulsed electromagnets. These electromagnets range from high-precision DC magnets to pulsed coils reaching 300kA, capable of generating fields up to 40 Tesla. They can be constructed using copper or aluminum windings to achieve different weight-to-power ratios. The company employs in-house 3D FEA simulations to predict and adjust field parameters, improving designs based on client approvals. The electromagnets are available in various forms, including wire wound and foil wound, allowing for different scales of production and precision. The magnets can be air or water-cooled, designed for efficiency under high-density settings. Hollow-conductor coils cater to specific requirements like high current densities. These capabilities make them ideal for medical, scientific, military, and industrial applications. Quality in design is further ensured using Poisson 2D and Opera 3D simulation programs.
