Sunto - Wireless Docking Station (WDS) for Environmental Monitoring

The Wireless Docking Station (WDS) by Sunto is a solar-powered solution engineered for environmental monitoring applications, catering to both remote and off-grid locations. It integrates a mini solar panel, a dedicated Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) manager, and a rechargeable battery with an efficient Battery Management System (BMS). The modular board architecture facilitates a range of connectivity needs with integrated Wi-Fi and a 169 MHz radio module. These features enable the WDS to power and communicate with various environmental sensors such as anemometers, rain gauges, and thermometers. Data is transmitted in real-time through a wireless setup, ensuring a seamless, cable-free operation. In scenarios where connectivity fails, data is stored locally on an SD card and transmitted once connectivity is restored. The WDS can function as a network node or repeater, expanding monitoring coverage. It finds applications in fields like climate observation, precision agriculture, and irradiation monitoring in photovoltaic plants.
