SynPet - Model TCP - Thermal Conversion Process for Waste Recycling
SynPet has developed a groundbreaking technology known as the Thermal Conversion Process (TCP®), designed to transform a wide array of carbon-based waste materials into high-grade circular products for the petrochemical industry. Unlike traditional recycling processes such as pyrolysis or gasification which are limited to specific waste types and require extensive pre-treatment, TCP® employs water at elevated temperatures and pressures in a multi-stage thermal reaction. This method efficiently processes mixed and contaminated plastics without the need for sorting or heating. Spanning three critical stages - depolymerization, hydrolysis, and cracking - TCP® achieves the separation and conversion of complex waste streams into valuable feedstocks like circular naphtha substitutes and renewable resources. Demonstrated in Istanbul and now scaling industrially at Antwerp-Bruges, TCP® embodies a novel solution in advancing the circular economy by offering sustainable management of challenging waste forms like domestic, industrial, and hazardous waste.
