We have a global capacity of around 5.5 million tonnes of soda ash per annum, of which 60 per cent is from natural deposits at Wyoming, US, and Lake Magadi, Kenya. Besides, the company owns 35 per cent of the global low-cost and sustainable natural soda ash capacity.

TCL is able to deliver low-cost caustic soda to the market due to its adoption of energy-efficient, membrane-cell technology and the captive availability of salt and power at the Mithapur facility. As a versatile alkali, caustic soda is used in a variety of industries, the major ones being rayon, cellophane, soap, pulp and paper.

Sodakarb is a food grade Sodium Bicarbonate with unmatched whiteness and superior impurity profile. It is used as a raising agent in biscuits, cookies, bread, cakes, farsan, jaggery & confectionery. It acts like a buffer and carbonation agent in beverages, electrolyte and rehydration solutions. The chemical is manufactured in accordance with all food safety regulations at our highly automated Mithapur facility.

Alkakarb is an animal feed grade Sodium Bicarbonate intended for use in preparing nutrition mixes for poultry, livestock & aqua produce. Alkakarb usage in feed directly benefits producer profitability through increased layer (poultry) egg output, faster broiler (poultry) growth, improved milk output in cattle, faster growth in livestock & aqua produce. The improved productivity does not come at the expense of animal health; while bicarbonate acts as a buffer to avoid acidosis, it also provides a chloride & sulphur free sodium diet. The chemical is manufactured at our automated and quality controlled Mithapur facility.

Sodium Bicarbonate technical grade is a versatile powder alkali intended for general applications like chemical synthesis, dyes, leather, fire extinguishers, water treatment, plastic moulding. It is NOT intended for applications, directly or indirectly, related to human consumption.

Sodium Bicarbonate refined grade is a versatile pure powder alkali intended for industrial applications like specialty chemical synthesis, high quality dyes, leather, metallurgy, electronics. The product conforms to IS 2124: Sodium Bicarbonate : Bureau of Indian Standards. It is NOT intended for applications, directly or indirectly, related to human consumption.

TCL`s cement business grew out of a sustainability and environment activity; the cement plant at Mithapur was set up to consume solid waste generated during the manufacture of soda ash. The area around Mithapur is rich in limestone. Given the region`s proximity to the sea, salt is also found here in abundance. Lime and salt are the main ingredients in the production of soda ash. The manufacturing process of soda ash leaves behind a large quantity of unutilised limestone and calcium products in the slurry. In order to utilise the by-products and unutilised limestone, TCL put up a modern cement plant at Mithapur.
