Sound waves act in different ways when they strike a surface. Some waves pass through the material, and others bounce off the surface. A harder, less porous surface will produce higher levels of reflection. A more porous material will allow for greater absorption. Acoustic absorption products are constructed from porous materials, lining hard surfaces that reflect sound.

Vibration damping materials dissipate excess energy and lower noise levels. This term is most commonly used in electronic, ergonomic, and industrial applications and refers to two main techniques: structural damping and vibration isolation.

Tech Shield Sleeve™ is a braided sleeve made from a proprietary blend of highly texturized fiber and cure in place structural cords. The texturized fiber helps insulate exhausts to either help keep the heat in for diesel particulate filtration or helps to lower surface temperature of the exhaust so that components near it will not get damaged. The cure in place structural cords will cure after a few minutes of exposure to the heat from the exhaust pipes, and once cured, will not allow the wrap to unravel and fall off.

Our TECH LOCK attachment system addresses these pain points, eliminating the need to use a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA). It’s both simple and quick to apply, reducing the amount of installation time required. TECH LOCK also helps prevent material waste by giving users the option to reposition components.

Acoustic barriers—also called sound barriers—block noise from being transmitted from one location to another. Usually made of mass loaded vinyl (MLV), sound-absorbing panels reduce the amount of airborne sound that is transmitted through floorboards, housings, firewalls, enclosures, or other spaces. MLV is a dense material that provides supplementary mass to an existing structure to block airborne sound transmission. It can also be hung as a mass partition.
