An end effector or handling device is a mechanical or powered device suspended from an overhead hoist, balancer, or other lifting device designed to handle a particular object. Custom end effectors and handling devices add value to standard overhead cranes. Integrating a lifting device with an end effector uniquely tailored to the end user`s process can greatly increase productivity and reduce operator exposure to injury within a work cell. End effectors are designed to interface the object in a particular way and change the orientation of the object for machine load/unload, palletizing, etc.
