40-hour Hazardous Waste Site Worker Basic Health & Safety Training

All hazardous waste site workers are required to complete this course before entering a site under OSHA regulation 1910.120.  The 5-day course consists of classroom presentations; tabletop exercises; dress-outs in level `A` or `B` suits; and live interactive drills.  The hands-on teaching styles of our instructors are designed to provide the student with practical and applicable knowledge.  The curriculum includes but is not limited to chemical hazards, air monitoring, medical surveillance, respirators and protective clothing as well as site control in an emergency. 

8-hour Hazardous Waste Site Worker Refresher Training

In accordance with OSHA`s 1910.120, all workers who have been certified in 40-hour Hazardous Waste Site training must take a yearly refresher to maintain their certification. This one-day course updates trainees on standards and practices and allows workers to improve hazardous waste site protection methods. The course consists of tabletop exercises and may contain hands-on demonstrations depending on the curriculum, which is changed yearly.

24-hour Emergency Responder Basic Health and Safety Training

osha 1910.120 requires that all personnel who are expected to respond pro-actively to emergencies involving hazardous materials must receive 24 hours of special training on hazardous materials. TNEC`s 3-day program combines interactive classroom activities, dress-out in level` A suits, and live emergency simulations to prepare students for a proper response. The curriculum includes workplace risk-mapping, chemical hazards and awareness, how to use the NIOSH Pocket Guide, air monitoring, selection and use of PPE, spill containment and decontamination. A post-simulation debriefing challenges students to evaluate the effectiveness of their response.

8-Hour Work Zone Safety Emergency Response Awareness

The objective of this training is to decrease the risk of municipal and other worker injury and illness in and around work and construction zones from traffic, especially in the case of emergencies. In this training, students practice how to develop and implement a formal traffic control plan for work zone safety. They also simulate the use of assorted barriers, traffic calmers, high-visibility clothing and traffic controls when working on or near public roads.

OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Safety & Health Training

This two day course is intended to provide a variety of safety and health training to entry level workers in the construction industry. It emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, not OSHA standards. Training is based on various topics in OSHA’s 1926 Construction Industry Regulations. Course requirements are set by OSHA’s Directorate of Training and Education (DTE), which is located at 2020 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
