The astraPAK® provides the lowest pressure drop of all our random plastic tower packing types and thanks to its distinctive structure it is also extraordinarily robust and resilient.

A mechanically robust packing media, ideal for various separation and absorption applications at atmospheric pressure and under vacuum, where a low pressure drop is critical.

Alternative metallic packing media available in stainless steel & special alloys. The I-Ring is an alternative metallic packing media that is particularly well suited to shorter packed bed heights. The performance characteristics of I-Rings include, 30% lower pressure drop than Pall Rings, Low liquid hold-up, Its physical shape permits maximum randomness and minimum alignment.

Alternative metallic packing media available in stainless steel & special alloys. The C-Ring is an alternative metallic packing media that is particularly suited to use in deep packed beds.

‘Koi-PAK’ is a filter and biological carrying media that has been specifically designed for use in the filtering of ponds and aquariums. The additional surface area, provided by the media, increases the area available for bacterial colonisation and so accelerates the break down of waste products to a less toxic form. Using our industrial process packing media expertise, ‘Koi-PAK’ is based on the well proven Pall Ring design with high surface area and openings in the side to aid liquid flow and reduce blocking and fouling.

PALLPAK100 is a Random Plastic Bio-Media. It combines a high surface area for aerobic or anaerobic biological treatment of waste water with excellent liquid distribution and high voidage to maximise the efficiency of the treatment process. It is ideal for both new & replacement media beds, increasing efficiency by replacing rock & other less efficient beds.

A random packed bed is held on a packing support plate. The essential attributes of the support plate are to have a high percentage of open area so as to not inhibit the capacity of the tower. This allows the unrestricted counter-current flow of both liquid and vapour through it. A support plate can be supplied in sections to allow easy installation through access manways. It is usually installed on an internal ring or support ledge. Additional support beams should be considered in larger towers to provide the necessary structural support.

Mist eliminators are an essential element in many packed tower systems. In many process operations, the removal of liquid droplets entrained in vapour streams is essential in order to prevent process or environmental contamination. In a mist eliminator, the principle behind its operation is based on having a large number of tiny obstacles to intercept entrained droplets of liquid in a vapour stream. These obstacles must provide a minimum drop in pressure over the removal system.
