The Waste Transformers services

In the heart of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, at the historic site of the Westergasfabriek, our Waste Transformer converts the organic waste from ten restaurants, two theaters, a micro-brewery and a number of creative industries. This former gas coal plant and the surrounding area has been transformed into a buzzing, healthy park. Unfortunately this buzz comes with a downside, food waste. A former female prison block is being rebuilt into a ‘Living Green Tower’ with vertical parks, urban gardening and restaurants in the south of Amsterdam. Designed by OMA Architects, together with FABRICations, and developed by AM Project Developers, The Waste Transformers will supply the installation bearing the same name, that will transform all the organic waste from 1350 homes, into good energy.

Turn your commercial garbage disposal into positive value on-site with our innovative food waste solution. We developed an on-site containerized anaerobic digester, called a Waste Transformer. It is placed next to companies or in communities who produce food waste. Biodegradable waste, such as kitchen waste, and commercial waste is automatically turned into biogas or electricity and heat. No technical knowledge needed to run the system. The waste is converted into liquid organic fertilizer ready to replace artificial fertilizers. Modular Waste Transformers recycle between 300kg - 3000kg food waste per day.
