LSRP

The process for the remediation of contaminated properties has significantly changed in New Jersey with the passage of the Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA) and associated regulations. SRRA requires that the remediation of sites be conducted under the oversight of a New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP). Whitman LSRPs have been involved with the legislative process creating the LSRP program as well as in current NJDEP stakeholder groups and committees responsible for shaping the program. Whitman, through its involvement with the creation of the LSRP program in addition to its years of experience in site remediation, is well positioned to assist clients in meeting the requirements for remediation under SRRA.

Geotechnical Engineering

The initial objective of the geotechnical engineering service is to evaluate and characterize subsurface soil conditions so that subsurface structures can be properly designed. The information we obtain through our geotechnical explorations provide necessary site specific data to facilitate our design of structural foundations, underground utilities, earthwork shoring and bracing. Clients often take advantage of Whitman`s capability to perform geotechnical explorations and environmental investigations simultaneously. The end result is more information in less time at a reduced cost. Geotechnical explorations should be viewed as an investment. Having the necessary information to evaluate design options and select the appropriate design for the project is the return on the investment.

Process Engineering

Plant Engineering

When many unit operations are tied together and then coupled with ancillary operations and services, the outcome is a physical production facility, or plant. Plant level engineering concerns the creation of plans and specifications, and capital as well as operating finances of plants. Whitman can generate plant operation and capital strategies, which may include equipment specification and scale up, process/pilot scale up and overall facility master-planning, according to the individual client`s needs.  We are sensitive to each individual client`s constraints, including funding, government regulations and safety standards.  Often times, these constraints will dictate the design outcome and Whitman`s team are experts of working within your system.
