Thermal Structures, Inc. products
Metal Foil Insulation Blankets
The metal foil insulation blanket has been the cornerstone of Thermal Structures product base for almost 50 years. Thermal Structures is among the world’s largest suppliers of metal foil blankets. Insulation material is encapsulated between stainless steel or inconel metal foil skins. Skins are typically press formed to provide a precision fit with a mating housing surface. Foil blankets are usually designed to be removable to access the component or structure underneath. Blanket sections are usually attached together using lock wire, metal tie straps, Velcro, springs or latches. Typical applications include combustor cases, internal engine insulation, ducting & Valves.
Sheet Metal Blankets
Durable Sheet Metal Heat Shields. When only the best will do, Thermal Structures heavy duty sheet metal products are designed to withstand the intense air flow of high thrust turbine engines. These types of shields are typically constructed using a stamped or spun sheet metal protective outer skin protecting the insulation material from the harsh surrounding environment.
Composite Structures
Flexible and Responsive Manufacturing: The Thermal Structures composite team uses a variety of manufacturing techniques to produce composite components with superior quality at competitive prices. From low volume spares to high volume production, Thermal Structures has the capabilities and experience necessary to service your composite needs.
Non Metallic Fire Shields
These shields are similar to our metal foil and fabric insulation systems in that they have a protective inner and outer skin encapsulating the insulation. We offer a variety of insulation materials and silicone types to meet your thermal requirements. Typical fire shield applications include fire protection of fluid valves, oil tanks, actuators, ducting, nacelles and any aluminum or composite structure that may need fire protection.
Silicone Seals
Typical seal applications include: airframe & nacelle seals, engine seals, fire barrier seals, rubber to metal – composite bonding, moldings, polyurethane erosion protection systems.
Fabric Insulation Blankets
Similar to foil systems except the insulation material is encapsulated between a fabric type skin. A wide variety of fabrics are available from low temperature silicone/fiberglass to high temperature quartz cloth. These blankets may be cut into complex shapes to fit and fill a cavity or wrap around a structure. Edge closeout may be stitched, stapled or sealed. Typical applications include aircraft fuselage, low temp ducting, ground based power turbines.
Composite Insulation Coating
Maximizes heat containment, Minimizes flame potential, Tested & Approved with major engine manufacturers, Fluid resistant.
