The TL1-A is an intrinsically safe digital laboratory thermometer designed for use in hazardous locations. The TL1-A is an improved version of the original ThermoProbe model TL1. The TL1-A is intended to be used anywhere a precision glass stem thermometer or other type thermometer is used. The TL1-A incorporates glass thermometer simplicity and reliability with the convenience of a digital display. Like precision mercury thermometers, the TL1-A has accuracy, repeatability and long-term stability. But unlike those thermometers there will never be problems with mercury separation or hazardous material cleanup. The TL1-A is commonly used as a calibration reference for field temperature instruments such as gauging thermometers and flow meters. With a history of proven accuracy, The TL1-A has become a standard for temperature in multiple industries.

The TL1-R is an intrinsically safe precision thermometer designed for use in hazardous locations. The TL1-R is a compact reference with accuracy comparable to instruments costing twice as much. The TL1-R is well suited for establishing temperature traceability in equipment that requires high accuracy. The TL1-R is also perfect for metrology applications and as a calibration reference thermometer. It is an extremely accurate portable hand held instrument that is ideally suited for field applications and indoor laboratory uses. There is no other digital thermometer with this accuracy in such a small package.

Platinum Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTD) Sensors
Platinum RTDs (Resistance Temperature Detectors) are sensing elements that are made of pure platinum wire coil (wire wound) encapsulated in ceramic or glass, or a thin film platinum deposited on a ceramic substrate. Platinum RTDs have a positive temperature coefficient. The electrical resistance increases as temperature rises in a known and repeatable manner. Their linearity and unmatched long term stability firmly establish platinum RTD elements as an ideal sensor for most industrial applications. Thin film elements offer performance equal to standard wire wounds, but with improved cost, size and convenience.
