Chemical Processing Solutions - Ammonia Catalysts

Topsoe - Nickel Catalyst

AR-401 is a nickel catalyst on activated magnesium alumina spinel support. AR-401 is available in the following shapes:

Topsoe - COS Hydrolysis Catalyst

CKA-3 is a promoted alumina-based catalyst used for hydrolysis of carbonyl sulfide (COS). The CKA-3 catalyst has a high activity even at low temperatures, which is essential for maximum conversion of COS, as the chemical equilibrium is favorable at low temperature. Whether the end product is chemicals or power, hydrolysis of carbonyl sulfide can be used in some gasification based plants to provide a more optimal process layout. In the COS hydrolysis reaction, the carbonyl sulfide is converted to hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide, which are easier to remove in the Acid Gas Removal (AGR) unit. As a result, the cost and size of the AGR can be reduced, which leads to significant savings.

Topsoe - Guard Material

GSSK is used to protect the downstream sour shift catalyst from dust and other impurities. The guard material can be used in a separate guard reactor or as top layer in the first sour shift reactor.

Topsoe - Chloride Absorbent for Inorganic Chloride Removal

Chloride in feedstocks can pose a serious threat to ammonia and hydrogen plant productivity if allowed to poison downstream catalysts or harm equipment. Our HTG-10 chloride absorbent eliminates this risk and safeguards your operations. Ideally positioned between your hydrogenation catalyst and your zinc oxide sulfur absorbent, the HTG-10 effectively absorbs any inorganic chloride your feedstocks might contain, thanks to its high-capacity potassium active sites and special alumina carrier.

Topsoe - Zinc Oxide Absorbent

Technologies that protect sensitive catalysts from poisoning are becoming increasingly important because the feedstocks in use today have greater variations in gas composition and impurity concentration. The HTZ-1 is a high-density zinc oxide absorbent for feedstocks with hydrogen sulfide. HTZ-1 will reliably protect the downstream catalysts in your plant from sulfur by efficient removal and conversion of hydrogen sulfide via the reaction ZnO + H2S → ZnS + H2O.

Topsoe - Zinc Oxide Absorbent

The diverse feedstocks in use today have made variations in gas composition and concentration commonplace, and technologies that protect downstream catalysts from poisoning are increasingly important. The HTZ-3 is a high-density zinc oxide absorbent for feedstocks with high sulfur concentrations. Proven at numerous facilities around the world, it will give your plant a cost-effective, reliable means of protecting downstream catalysts from sulfur.

Topsoe - Promoted Zinc Oxide Absorbent

The diverse feedstocks in use today have made variations in gas composition and concentration commonplace, and technologies that protect downstream catalysts from poisoning are increasingly important. The HTZ-31 is TOPSOE™’s state-of-the-art high-density zinc oxide absorbent for feedstocks with high sulfur concentrations. It delivers unmatched sulfur removal and protection, even during unexpected leakages of organic sulfur.

Topsoe - Zinc Oxide Absorbent

The diverse feedstocks in use today have made variations in gas composition and concentration commonplace, and technologies that protect downstream catalysts from poisoning are increasingly important. The HTZ-5 is a high-purity, large-surface-area zinc oxide absorbent for feedstocks with low sulfur concentrations, or for operation at low temperatures. It reliably removes sulfur to keep your downstream catalysts protected.

Hydroprocessing Solutions

Topsoe - Catalyst Poison Removal Catalysts

The single most important factor for hydroprocessing unit profitability is the length of time your catalyst remains active. No matter how high a catalyst’s start-of-run activity is, if it deactivates more rapidly than expected, your unit performance will suffer and profits will drop. A major cause of premature catalyst deactivation is impurities in feedstocks. Nickel, vanadium, iron, silicon, arsenic, phosphorus, and sodium are often present in feedstocks at ppb or even ppm levels, and the effect on downstream catalysts can be devastating. Our expertise in contamination control, our market-leading poison guard catalysts, and our proven grading strategies minimize the effect of impurities in your feed blend and maximize profitability at your refinery.

Air Emission Control Solutions

Topsoe - Particulate Filtration Catalytic

Combine particulate filtration with other systems to reduce complexity and total cost of ownership. In certain industries dust, soot and other particulates in off-gases are a problem that need special consideration. We enable our customers to combine particulate filtration with our other emission management systems, where the combination can reduce complexity and total cost of ownership. High efficiency filters combined with high activity catalysts ensure compliance with even the strictest regulations, in the most challenging environments.
