The Series 280 AC-AC LVDTs represent our low-cost solution for linear position feedback. While this group provides the same stable readings and rugged construction as most LVDTs, other Trans-Tek AC lines offer better overall performance. For example, Linearity is specified as ±0.40% for the Series 280 and ±0.25% for the Series 210-220. This would suggest that the 210-220’s provide a much higher absolute accuracy and resolution than the 280’s.

A manufacturer of automated load testing equipment utilizes our LVDTs in their machines to help test soil strength. Windows-based software – featuring user-friendly graphical interfaces – gives these systems an ultramodern look. Among the many sensors used to profile the soil sample, a DC-DC LVDT from our Series 240 measures deformation of the sample under load; this customer chooses from the Models 0242, 0243 & 0244 to match the stroke requirement of the application.

Trans-Tek’s involvement in the medical industry has been well documented in application notes and articles through the years. Another interesting story describing the use of our transducers in this field comes from an innovative company that designs and builds machine presses that fabricate medicine pills and tablets. This process is sometimes referred to as “tableting”.
