Chemical Treatments

Tresch - Cooling Towers And Evaporative Condenser

Cooling circuits that use self-cooling towers are subject to multiple issues: scaling, corrosion, biofilm or the development of micro-organisms such as the legionella pneumophila bacteria. Top-up water treatment by softening, partial or total demineralisation, acidification or chemical treatment may resolve these problems.

Tresch - Osmosis-Purified Water Production Units

Reverse osmosis is a treatment process which enables water`s salinity to be reduced. The principle is based on the use of a semi-permeable membrane which enables the salt contained in the water to be retained and partially demineralised water to be produced. Depending on the chemical nature of the untreated water and to increase the operating output, an anti-scale product is injected into the top-up water to prevent the precipitation of mineral salts, such as calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate, silica and so on. The membranes may also be cleaned either at regular frequency or during a curative operation following an operating incident.

Equipments

Tresch - Ion Exchangers

Ion exchangers are made up of resin in the format of small 0.2 mm polymer bearings charged with acid or alkaline functional groups with the ability to absorb the cations and anions in a solution.  These are replaced with other cations and anions of equivalent quantity and charge. When the resins` exchange capacity is exhausted, they are regenerated by an acid solution for the cationic resins and an alkaline solution for the anionic resins. The ion exchangers are essentially used to soften, decarbonate and demineralise water. They also enable the selective absorption of dissolved metals.

Tresch - Dosage Units

Most water treatment processes use chemicals: coagulant and flocculating agents in clarification, corrosion and scale inhibitor for circuit protection, biocide and chlorine for disinfection, acid and soda for ion exchangers, and so on. These products require precise dosage and a reinforced HSE environment.
