This basic expansion joint is made by attaching fittings to a single stainless steel bellow. Triad Bellows will incorporate any weldable fitting into your expansion joint design. Single Metal Bellows Expansion Joints are most commonly used for axial compression and extension but may also be designed for lateral offset and angular movement. Our design engineers commonly utilize multi-ply metal expansion bellows for the maximum cycle life. Tie Rods, flow liners and covers can be added to the single metal expansion joint to enhance the performance capabilities.

Triad Bellows Series-1 metal bellows are manufactured with heavier gauge T-321 s/s to achieve higher pressure ratings. The allowable movements shown are based on a minimum of 3000 non-concurrent cycles. For lower pressure applications a Series-2 expansion joint will provide increased movement capability. When a standard metal bellows is not the right fit we will design and build a custom metal bellows perfectly designed for your application at a standard price.

With modular tooling, Triad can manufacture large diameter metal bellows to fit your exact specifications. We are fully equipped to craft bellows up to a diameter of 144”. As with the smaller bellows, we can also make the larger diameters with multi-ply construction for increased cycle life and movement capability. High temperature T-321 stainless steel is our standard material of construction but T-316, T304, T309, T310, Hastelloy X, Hastelloy C276, Inconel 625 and other alloys can also be used in any of our metal bellows designs. To ensure that you get the large diameter metal bellows available, Triad Bellows designs and manufactures ALL metal bellows in accordance with EJMA 10th edition.

Reinforcing neck bands can be provided on the inside or outside of the bellows tangent. The band is used as a welding aid as well as reinforcement. The neck band functions as a heat sink for thin bellows materials and dramatically speeds up the welding process.
