Asset Finance

Our Aircraft and Asset Finance team is an integral part of our banking and finance practice both in London and in the Middle East. We act for lenders, institutional funders, airlines, operators and private individuals in connection with the financing, leasing, maintenance and sale and purchase of a wide range of asset types including aircraft, ships, oil rigs, rolling stock and manufacturing equipment.

Aviation

Our aviation law practice is one of the strongest elements of our international practice. We have a dedicated aviation team primarily based in London advising operators, maintenance providers, banks and lessors on an international scale. Recent transactions have spanned the Middle East, Africa, the USA, the UK and mainland Europe, as well as the Indian subcontinent and the Far East. Our Middle East work is complemented by our Islamic finance experience.

Housing Finance

We are the largest and most experienced team of housing finance lawyers in the United Kingdom. We have a reputation for being an essential part of the team in any innovative transaction, having been at the forefront of all major developments in the housing finance market but we also add real value to all mainstream transactions.

Islamic Finance

Islamic finance is an important growth area as the sector gains in confidence and sophistication and financial institutions recognise potential demand from the Muslim community and seek to attract investment from the Middle East. We have been involved in Islamic finance since the early 1990s when we structured our first Shari`ah compliant property fund in the UK.

Project Finance

Our project finance team is a central part of our London and international practices, and includes lawyers based in both London and the Middle East. The team is a high profile and rapidly expanding part of our projects and infrastructure practices, liaising with both public and private sector clients including, in the UK, public sector bodies, PFI bidders & providers and funders and, in the Middle East, equity providers, private sector project developers, lenders, other funders, ECAs and host governments. The team`s unique strength is supported by its extensive knowledge and unique experience of public sector requirements coupled with private sector demands.

Property Finance

Our Property Finance team is a core part of our practice. We act for banks, building societies and institutional funders as well as both private and public sector investors such as housing associations in relation to the structuring of finance for property and property-related businesses. The range of work and experience is extensive and includes traditional property lending and borrowing for investment properties and portfolios, development finance as well as structuring investments utilising Islamic finance.
