Geochemistry
TRX staff of geoscientists has extensive experience in the research, development, execution and interpretation of various geochemical techniques utilized in Environmental, Edafologic/Agricultural, Hydrologic, Exploration (mining, oil, geothermal), Urban and Industrial Studies. In environmental studies TRX possesses a wide range of capabilities to perform all phases of environmental site assessments involving natural and refined petroleum product surface and subsurface contamination. Surface geochemical surveys are utilized by TRX (along with geophysics) to delineate the horizontal extent of subsurface contamination in soils and/or groundwater. The vertical extent of contamination is subsequently determined using both geophysical methods that allow the optimal borehole location and borehole sampling. This allows a three-dimensional interpretation of the contamination present.
Geophysics
At TRX a pool of recognized geophysicists share considerable international experience in design, implementation and interpretation of near surface geophysical investigations. This, fully integrated with multidisciplinary methods, allows the proper approach in the effective and practical solution of different engineering / environmental / hydrologic and exploration geo scientific problems. Gravimetry
This technique consists in the measurement of relative changes in the earth gravimetric field. Even small changes (mgal) in subsoil density properties produce anomalies that can be measured with precision. TRX offers the most recent instrumental and software advances that permits the highest data acquisition accuracy, field quality control (QC) monitoring and advanced processing.
Magnetics
The main objective of this method is to obtain information associated with geologic units using rock magnetic properties. Practically, the underground effect relative to magnetite and magnetic mineral content is measured permitting the characterization of the geologic and structural setting and/or identifying magnetic objects. TRX offers the most recent instrumental and software advances that permits the highest data acquisition accuracy, field quality control (QC) monitoring and advanced processing.
Spectrometry (Radiometric Surveying)
The method allows investigating, in certain energy windows, the signal y associated with instable isotopes, relative concentrations of radioactive elements associated with minerals present in rocks, soils and in solution within the first tenth of meter in the underground. Potassium (dominant alteration indicator in most mineral deposits), Thorium and Uranium are the three most abundant radioactive elements on earth. By the time the concentration of these radio elements varies in different types of rocks and as a function of certain alteration/pollution processes, the use of the spectrometer may contribute in the geo scientist quest to define lithologic aspects, soil geochemistry, alteration zones,. etc.
Induced Polarization
The induced polarization method quantify the capacitive properties of geologic units (clays..), mineral elements (sulphides) or anomalous fluids (heavy metals rich pollutants) present in the substratum which acts as `mini-condensers` when current is injected through them. TRX provides advanced acquisition and QC services along with 2D and 3D modeling.
Resistivity Methods
Electrical or galvanic methods allow investigating the underground distribution of the resistivity parameter. TRX, since over 20 years , applies either tetraelectrodic arrays in the Vertical Electric Sounding mode (VES) and multielectrodic arrays for the execution of Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT).
