VICONOX - Tunnel Atmosphere Monitor System

The VICONOX tunnel atmosphere monitor is a single sensor solution for measuring NO2, NO, (NOx), CO, visibility and temperature (or combinations of) within a road traffic tunnel, rail tunnel or other confined space. These measurements can be used as part of an air quality management system for ventilation control and / or secondary smoke detection. The VICONOX has been designed for harsh tunnel environments with a high quality, IP67 rated stainless steel enclosure. Wall mounted alignment bracketry, quick release heads and quick lock cable connections make installation and future servicing easy and simple. The VICONOX’s intelligent heads have RS485 (Modbus RTU), Digital Relays and Analogue Outputs as standard for connection to a PLC / SCADA system.

Airflow - Fixed Point Anemometer for Tunnels

The AIRFLOW MkII is a robust, single point monitor designed to measure air velocity (and temperature when specified) within a tunnel environment. Using proven, ultrasound time of flight technology ensures the AIRFLOW MkII provides consistent and accurate measurements. The data provided by the AIRFLOW-MkII can be used as part of an air quality management system within a tunnel or other confined spaces including rail and cable tunnels and mining applications. The AIRFLOW-MkII has no moving parts and no regular service requirements, making it a truly fit and forget monitor. With industry standard SCADA / PLC interface options, such as Current Outputs, Digital Relays and RS485 (Modbus RTU) the AIRFLOW-MkII is a self-contained, intelligent, tunnel airflow monitor.

Open Path, Cross Bore Air Flow Monitor

The CROSSFLOW is an open path, cross bore air flow monitor designed to measure air speed and direction in multi-lane and bidirectional tunnels. The system uses reliable ultrasonic transit time measurements between a pair of transceivers which are mounted and aligned on either side of the tunnel. The CROSSFLOW is a self-contained, intelligent analyser with industry standard SCADA / PLC interface options including Current Outputs, Digital Relays and RS485 (Modbus RTU). The wall mounted alignment bracketry and quick lock cable plugs ensure the CROSSFLOW is easy to install and commission. With no moving parts the CROSSFLOW is very easy to maintain, there are no regular offline servicing requirements beyond an annual check and clean.

Tunnel Sensors Control Unit Rugged Version

The TSCU-R is a central control unit designed for operation with compatible Tunnel Sensors instruments including the VICONOX, AIRFLOW-MkII and CROSSFLOW within the tunnel environment. The TSCU-R is a central control unit designed to be mounted in the tunnel bore but at a level and location that is more accessible than most monitor installations high up on the tunnel wall. The TSCU-R’s on board USB socket enables a laptop computer with Tunnel Sensors utility software to communicate with the monitors.

Tunnel Sensors Control Unit

The TSCU is an operator interface compatible with the range of Tunnel Sensors instruments, providing a local visual display of readings, fault warnings and alarm conditions. The TSCU operator interface is designed to be installed at ground level inside the tunnel bore allowing operators to control monitors high up on the tunnel wall.  The TSCU provides a local visual display of readings, fault warnings and alarm conditions for up to 8 Tunnel Sensors monitors. With a range of industry standard, user configurable outputs including RS485 (Modbus RTU), Digital Relays and Current Outputs, the TSCU can interface with the tunnel’s SCADA or ventilation control system.

Combined Termination Unit

The CTU is the latest development within the Tunnel Sensors product range, designed to provide a robust yet versatile solution for local instrument connections. The CTU is a rugged, wall mounted termination unit designed for installation alongside compatible Tunnel Sensors instruments. Due to the diverse tunnel power and communication requirements, the CTU adopts a modular design philosophy. Enclosures and terminal packs are offered separately so customers can specify and purchase the precise configuration required for their application.

LUMIOS - Luminance Photometer for Tunnels

The LUMIOS MkIII measures the level of luminance, or brightness, at the tunnel entrance / exit to ensure that the visual perception of drivers is maintained. The LUMIOS-MkIII measures the level of brightness or luminance created by natural light around tunnel portals. When integrated with a managed tunnel lighting system, the measurements provided by the LUMIOS-MkIII will ensure that the visual perception of drivers is maintained during the day and at night. This avoids sudden variations in lighting and potential “black hole effect” when entering and exiting a tunnel.

ILLIOS - Illuminance Photometer

The ILLIOS measures illuminance inside the tunnel bore to help maintain safe lighting conditions for drivers. Illuminance or incident lighting determines the amount of light that covers a specific surface or area within a tunnel. The ILLIOS measures the level of illuminance within the tunnel bore to help ensure interior illumination levels are continuously maintained in order to provide safe lighting condition for drivers. The ILLIOS has a stainless steel, IP67 rated case that has been designed specifically for harsh tunnel environments. The ILLIOS measures the illuminance over a standard range of 0-20,000 Lux, which can be scaled to meet the user’s environment. The ILLIOS is a self-contained intelligent analyser, measurements are available via RS485 (Modbus RTU), Current Outputs and Digital Relays.

ECOM - Electromechanical Carbon Monoxide (CO) Monitor for Tunnels

The ECOM is a compact electrochemical gas sensor suitable for continuous monitoring of Carbon Monoxide (CO) within tunnel environments. The ECOM tunnel monitor measures the concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) within an ambient environment such as road and rail tunnels or other industrial applications. These measurements can be used as part of an air quality management system for ventilation control.

ENOM - Electrochemical No Monitor for Tunnels

The ENOM is a compact electrochemical gas monitor to measure the concentration of Nitric Oxide (NO) within tunnel environments. The ENOM tunnel monitor measures the concentration of Nitric Oxide (NO) within an ambient environment such as road and rail tunnels or other industrial applications. These measurements can be used as part of an air quality management system for ventilation control. The ENOM is a fixed sensor, which uses an electrochemical cell for NO detection. The ENOM consists of a Sender Unit and a ‘plug-in’ Sensor Module, which are mounted together on the wall or ceiling of the tunnel. The Sensor Module is pre-calibrated and stores all necessary data relating to type identification, sensing range and specific calibration. This data is automatically recognised by the Sender Unit when the module is fitted.
