The X-ring is a four-lipped sealing element in ring form with a special, endlessly vulcanised, virtually square profile. Due to the great number of useable elastomer materials, the rings are suitable for sealing nearly any liquid and gas media. The main area of application of the X-rings is dynamic sealing, but they are also suitable for use in static sealing applications (radial and axial).

The O-ring is an efficient, cost-effective sealing element for a great diversity of applications.lt is extensively used virtually in all branches of industry. Elastomer materials in different formulations ensure that almost any media can be reliably sealed off. The O-ring is an endless round sealing with a circular cross section.

The FEP O-ring (Fig. 1) can be described as an elastomer ring that is encapsulated by a seamless FEP. FEP is a per-fluorinated polymer of excellent chemical resistance, similar to that of PTFE. FEP is an economic alternative wherever the chemical resistance of the standard elastomers is insufficient.

V-rings are cheap, extremely flexible elastic sealing rings for use in unpressurised shaft and bearing sealing applications. In contrast to shaft seals, such as for instance radial shaft sealing rings, Vrings seal axially against a vertically arranged opposing face. (Illustration 1). The high mobility and flexibility of the sealing lip allows greater tolerance levels and angular deviation in comparison to other shaft seals.
