Gas Sample Probes
Heated Extractive Gas Sample Probe
The Model 270S is a Heated Stack Filter Assembly consisting of the filter body mounted in an aluminum protective housing. An optional blowback system is provided to allow a blowback to occur on command from a computer, data logger, PLC or external switch mounted in a safe area. A 125 watt heater is mounted on the outside of the filter cavity. The heater holds the temperature of the filter near 340°F (171°C). A bi-metallic thermal switch mounted to the filter body keeps the temperature from exceeding 350°F (177°C) by opening the circuit before that temperature. An optional independent thermocouple can be provided as a means to measure and transmit or record the temperature of the filter. A second thermal switch, set at 225°F (107°C), is provided to be used as an alarm contact if the temperature drops below the switch temperature.
Heated Extractive Gas Sample Probe
The Universal Analyzers Model 270 (Div II & Zone II Certified) heated sample probe is designed for continuous use in extractive gas sampling systems to be installed in an Electrically Classified Hazardous Area. Common uses are refineries, petrochemical and chemical locations. The modular design is used to filter dust and particulate from a wide variety of gas streams in exhaust stacks and duct applications. The sample probe is designed with the end user in mind and comes with a unique no-tools design for filter replacement. This versatile probe is available in a number of configurations with many options to customize it to specific applications.
Heated Extractive Gas Sample Probe
The Universal Analyzers Type 275E heated sample probe is designed for continuous use in extractive gas sampling systems. The modular design is used to filter dust and particulate from high dust loaded, high temperature, and high dew point corrosive gas streams. The sample probe is designed with the end user in mind and comes with a no-tools design for filter replacement. A stainless steel weatherproof cover is included along with integrated temperature control at 340°F. To avoid cold spots, high wattage heating and an insulation wrap is included to keep the filter element and the tube connections hot and above the dew point. A 9” length stainless steel filter (2μm) element comes standard.
Gas Coolers
Thermoelectric Gas Cooler
The Series 500 Sample Coolers are our moderate capacity thermoelectric coolers. They provide a self-regulated 4.0°C dew point gas sample. The 500 Series Coolers condense the water from a wet gas sample with minimal loss of the water soluble gas fraction. This results from the unique design of the heat exchangers. The separation occurs in the heat exchangers which have a highly polished cylindrical surface cooled by thermoelectric Peltier devices to the desired dew point temperature. These heat exchangers are available in a variety of materials including Stainless Steel, Kynar/Glass, and Hastelloy C276.

Gas Sample Coolers - 600 Series Mini Thermoelectric Gas Cooler
Universal - Mini Gas Sample Cooler
The Series 600 Mini-Coolers are our least expensive and most compact thermoelectric coolers providing a self-regulated 4.0°C dew point sample gas ready for analysis. This device can be either plate or wall mounted and can contain one or two 5” heat exchangers which are cooled passively (to ambient) and/or actively controlled using thermoelectric Peltier devices. The unit’s heat sinks can be cooled using either ambient air or a continuous supply of water. The unit provides a 0-1VDC signal output proportional to the sample temperature between 0-50°C. If the optional condensate slip sensor is included, two relay outputs are provided to indicate condensate slip. An externally mounted 12, 15, or 24VDC power supply is required and is offered as an accessory by Universal Analyzers. Wetted materials are 316 Stainless Steel, Glass/Kynar, Teflon Coated Stainless, Welded 316 Stainless Steel or Hastelloy C-276.

Gas Sample Coolers - 1000 Series Thermoelectric Gas Cooler
Universal - Gas Sample Cooler
The Series 1000 Sample Coolers are our high capacity thermoelectric coolers. Providing a self-regulated 4.0°C dew point gas sample, the 1000 Series Coolers condense the water from a wet gas sample with a minimal loss of the water soluble gas fraction. This results from the unique design of the heat exchangers. The separation occurs in the impingers which have a highly polished cylindrical surface cooled by thermoelectric Peltier devices to the desired dew point temperature. These impingers are available in variety of materials including 316 Stainless Steel, Kynar/Glass, and Hastelloy C-276. The 1000 series coolers can be either plate or wall mounted and can contain one or more 10” impingers. The number of impingers and the cooling scheme can be configured to satisfy a number of application requirements. The unit’s Peltier elements are cooled by heat sinks which are then cooled using continuously flowing ambient.
Gas Sample Coolers - 1100 Series Vortex Gas Cooler
Universal - Vortex Gas Sample Cooler
The 1100 series vortex sample gas cooler chills the sample through the use of a Vortex Tube. Clean dry compressed air, preferably Instrument Air, supplied by the plant passes through a “generator” within the vortex tube which separates the high velocity molecules from the low velocity molecules to provide cold air within the sample cooler which removes heat from the sample. Three square feet of heat transfer surface, inside the cooler transmits the heat from the gas sample.
