Vacco products

As part of ESCO’s business strategy; VACCO’s Aircraft product line will move to our sister company, PTI starting this year, January, 2019. PTI’s Product Line, facilities and people are dedicated to Aircraft products, and have a working atmosphere and culture very similar to VACCO.

Recently, VACCO qualified the Jettison Shut-off Valve (a motor-operated fuel dump valve) and the OPRV for the CH-148 Cyclone, a twin-engine, multi-role shipboard helicopter.

VACCO Industries maintains a product line of flightqualified etched disc filters, providing absolutefiltration for satellites and spacecraft since 1961. The etched disc filter’s superior characteristics aredue to several features. First, each flow path ischemically etched into metal by a high precisionphotochemical- etching process. Next, each discis individually cleaned prior to assembly in a cleanroom. Finally, no welding is performed on thestack element assembly assuring the cleanest andmost reliable filter in the industry

VACCO’s Wintec metal mesh filter assembly is installed in the Propulsion Pressurant System of the Lockheed Martin A2100 commercial satellite to remove micron sized particulate from the pressurant gas.

VACCO’s STEs are used in the fuel system on Tomahawk cruise missiles to prevent gas bubbles from entering the engine.

We design and manufacture photo etched components from various metals suitable for aerospace, defense, medical, electronic, filtration, automotive and many other commercial markets. Our core competency lies in producing micro-machined components, such as micro fluidic devices, screens and meshes, fuel valves, manifolds, electronic components and disc filters. Chemically Etched Miniature Systems (ChEMS ®) as well as our PhotoPore® screens are two of our patented etched products which are used in critical spacecraft and medical applications.

VACCO is a leading manufacturer of critical-quiet valves and manifolds used aboard the U.S. Naval submarine fleet. In addition, VACCO manufactures non-quiet valves used on many U.S. Naval operational carriers.

VACCO Industries maintains a product line of stainlessand titanium check valves to meet industry’s demand forhigh reliability and tight leakage. The 3/8” check valve developed for the Mars Ascentprogram is a titanium welded unit capable of very lowexternal leakage and wide range of temperatureextremes (-170° to 45° C). The valve contains anangled-machined seating surface, different from thepoppet sealing surface allowing an increase in seatstress. The increase in seat stress improves sealingcapability of the valve. This type of design has been inused in other VACCO valves for many years.

VACCO Aerospace Products produces a reliefvalve for designed exclusively to satisfy the needsof the space industry. A unique advantage of VACCO’s relief valve is that the seat/seal configuration is flight qualified andhas demonstrated successful flight heritage forover 10 years.
