Vadose FLUORO-SORB - PFAS Removal Media

The FLUORO-SORB adsorbent by Vadose Remediation is a specialized NSF-certified adsorption media designed to effectively treat multiple forms of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), surpassing other products by providing a comprehensive binding capacity across a wide array of removal processes. Its unique feature is a modified surface that minimizes competitive adsorption, allowing for superior performance in treating groundwater and other contaminated environments. The media can be applied in various configurations including flow-through filtration systems, permeable reactive barriers, and in-situ stabilization treatments. Known for its fast kinetics with an effective empty bed contact time of just 2-3 minutes, FLUORO-SORB enables significant reductions in required media volume, realizing cost savings through extended media bed life and less frequent changeouts. It's also adaptable in varying particle sizes for tailored applications, making it a versatile and functional choice for complex remediation projects. For further optimization, it may be deployed using methodologies like injection within groundwater plumes and incorporation in a composite geotextile mat for sediment capping.

Vadose - Bentonite and Geosynthetic Clay Liners for Environmental Applications

Geosynthetic Clay Liners (GCLs) are engineered solutions that integrate two geotextiles containing a layer of sodium bentonite or polymer-enhanced clay. These liners attribute their consistent low permeability to the encapsulated clay intended for a variety of environmental and containment operations. They possess the ability to seal around penetrations, self-heal punctures, and self-seam at the overlaps, making them reliable for diverse applications. The GCLs by CETCO, including the Bentomat and Resistex series, cater specifically to water containment and waste management sectors. The Bentomat series is typically applied in water containment settings like ponds and reservoirs, while the Resistex GCLs, engineered with polymer-modification, provide enhanced compatibility with aggressive leachates encountered in waste containment. The choice between standard bentonite or polymer-modified GCLs is determined by on-site conditions, ensuring the right shear strength and chemical compatibility for each project.

Vadose - Organoclays

Organoclay applications include groundwater pump and treat, as an amendment for in-situ solidification/stabilization, permeable reactive barrier, and as part of a sediment cap. Compared to activated carbon, organoclay has a high adsorption capacity for oil and grease and less soluble, higher molecular weight organics. Organoclay is often deployed in conjunction with activated carbon, often as a pretreatment step to extend the life of the carbon. Various organoclays are available depending on the application, some of which are provided below. Please contact us for the most current technical data and properties sheet.

Vadose - Reactive Core Mat for Contaminated Sediment Capping

The Reactive Core Mat (RCM) is an innovative solution for remediating contaminated sediments through active capping. This permeable composite mat incorporates active materials, such as Organoclay, FluoroSorb, or activated carbon, between non-woven geotextile layers, providing a barrier that allows water to pass while capturing contaminants. By isolating compromised sediments and preventing re-suspension, RCM effectively mitigates exposure risks. It offers flexibility for full or partial sediment capping and can be implemented as an alternative or complement to dredging, especially in scenarios where traditional sand caps are impractical. The customized design of RCM, leveraging adsorptive media, contributes to reduced cap thickness and aids in the restoration of benthic environments. Technical considerations in selecting RCM include site-specific factors affecting remediation efforts and media choice to optimize contaminant capture.

Vadose CETCO - Liquid Boot Vapor Intrusion (VI) Mitigation System

CETCO's LIQUID BOOT systems have been applied to more applications than any other spray applied membrane for over 30 years. The Liquid Boot system is installed beneath the slab and below vertical walls to prevent vapor (volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or methane) intrusion into buildings.  All LIQUID BOOT systems are inert spray-applied, water-based products which contain no VOCs. When cured they form a continuous self-healing membrane with superior chemical resistance properties. The membrane seals all vapor intrusion pathways, preventing contaminated soil vapors from entering the building.
