The difference with the ‘standard’ horizontal centrifugal pump (CMO-N CGO): the plastic casing is surrounded by a cast iron casing, which makes the pump suitable for tough working conditions. The Alpha self-priming pumps are large, robust pumps that are suitable for continuous use. The pumps are of the close-coupled type with standard motors provided with forced cooling. The discharge and suction connections have standardised tapered thread sizes. The pumps can be used for pumping lightly contaminated liquids and are highly suited for irrigation systems in which no chemicals are pumped. This is a very extensive series of pumps, which can also be supplied with 1-phase motors up to 1.5 kW. These pumps use the semi-open impeller principle, with a non-return valve in the pump body.

The Lowara BG series self-priming pumps is a series of smaller pumps for light applications and domestic use. The pump is available in a 1-phase (BGM), and a 3-phase version (BG).
