Vandezande - Sludge Thickener

Sludge is an important by-product in the waste-water treatment process. The dewatering of sludge, consisting of 99% water, is done by means of a sludge thickener. The sludge is stored for a few days in round basins in which a slowly revolving paddle enables the sludge to solidify, due to the influence of gravity, thus becoming a substance with a dry matter content of 2 to 4%. The paddle homogenizes and breaks down the sludge layers which in turn allows the water to separate so that the sludge can sink more rapidly to the bottom before being transferred to the sludge collector by means of the sludge scrapers.

Vandezande - Grit and Scum Remover System

In a water treatment plant, the grit and scum remover separates the grit (and oil and grease) from the contaminated medium. There are 2 different types of grit and scum removers: the circular and the rectangular grit and scum remover. The feeding of the medium in the circular grit and scum remover basin takes place by means of a supply channel, fitted with flow dividers to ensure an even distribution of the flow. The bottom scrapers shift the precipitated grit and the organic substances into a recessed pit, while the waste water on the other side of the collector flows over the overflow edges. In the case of a rectangular grit and scum remover, the bridge performs a back and forth movement.

Vandezande - Shut-off Valves and Weirs

Vandezande designs and delivers wall valves, canal valves, overflow valves, valve weirs ... made to measure for all possible applications on water treatment plants. Different drive possibilities possible: Hydraulic drive with hydraulic cylinder and power pack (in cooperation with Vameco). Electromechanical drive by means of: spindle driven by geared motor or rack and pinion driven by a motor gearbox. Manual operation with handwheel or key. The choice of material (stainless steel, preserved or galvanised steel, ALU ...) as desired.
