Stainless Steel VAPOR PIN® Sampling Device
The barb at the top of the Vapor Pin® sampling device connects to ¼-inch sample tubing (typically Nylon or Teflon®) with softer tubing, preferably Tygon®. Because stainless steel is more durable than brass and more corrosion resistant, we recommend stainless steel for long-term installations and in corrosive environments. Brass Vapor Pin® sampling devices are less durable than stainless steel, but they can be reused repeatedly with proper care. We recommend brass Vapor Pin® sampling devices for short-term installations, especially those installed in the stick-up configuration. Total length 3 1/2". Top barbed fitting is quarter inch in diameter. This item can not be installed without the Installation/Extraction Tool or Silicone Sleeves. and the protective white caps.
Installation/Extraction Tool
Used to install and extract the VAPOR PIN® sampling device.
Stainless Steel Secured Cover
Used to secure VAPOR PIN® sampling device for extended period of time.
Vapor Pin - Sleeves
Forms the seal between the VAPOR PIN® sampling device and the slab.
Stainless Steel Drilling Guide
Used to establish the proper depth of the 1 1/2" diameter hole and center the 5/8" hole for proper Vapor Pin® sampling device installation to accept the secure cover. While wearing PPE, drill a 1½-inch diameter hole into the concrete slab to a depth of approximately 1 3/4 inches. Pre-marking the desired depth on the drill bit with tape will assist in this process. Remove cuttings from the hole and place the Drilling Guide in the hole with the conical end down (Figure 3). The hole is sufficiently deep if the flange of the Drilling Guide lies flush with the surface of the slab. Deepen the hole as necessary, but avoid drilling more than 2 inches into the slab, as the threads on the Secure Cover may not engage properly with the threads on the Vapor Pin® sampling device.
Vapor Pin - Caps
Used to close sampling port when not in use. Vapor Pin® Caps are placed on top of any type of Vapor Pins equipped with barb fittings or quick connects, and prevent soil gas from escaping between sample events. Caps should be replaced each time the Vapor Pin® sampling device is installed.
