VAW Systems’ acoustic enclosures and plenums are engineered for optimum attenuation and noise reduction.  Acoustic enclosures are custom designed to provide practical, space savings noise control solutions.  The acoustic enclosure may house noisy equipment (fan casings, gensets, pumps, etc.).  The acoustic plenum may be connected to a fan discharge or return opening to aid in the distribution of ventilation or conditioned air.  In addition to being an effective way to group ducts together, an acoustic plenum is often used to efficiently attenuate low frequency sound.  Enclosures and plenums include sound absorptive walls, typically perforated metal liner backed by fiberglass media to deliver broadband sound attenuation.

VAW Systems’AL(standard blade),AL-S(sight-proof) andAL-F(airfoil shaped) Acoustic Louvers are designed to provide optimal acoustic performance (Transmission Loss; dB) with minimal airflow restrictions (Pressure Drop; in.w.g.) for a variety of space restricted applications. Acoustic louvers are manufactured with a choice of finishes and material options.  If required by the system or in-field conditions, the acoustic louver may be assembled in a modular fashion.  VAW Systems offers a range of blade geometries that will meet your acoustic, aerodynamic and security requirements.

Axial fan silencers are often employed in HVAC and tunnel ventilation systems. Circular silencers include a center body that is matched to the fan and motor hub, delivering uniform flow in and out of the fan. VAW Systems’ Axial Silencers are designed with a suitable shape and size, ensuring that the pressure drop is minimized (often near zero pressure losses), while helping the fan achieve the required noise criteria and thrust performance.

Many industrial fans and related equipment (engines, vacuum dust collectors, pumps, coolers) require significant noise reductions from casing radiated sound emissions. VAW Systems designs and builds high performance acoustic enclosures and barrier systems that will meet both occupational noise limits and environmental noise ordinances.  Using suitable acoustic wall panels and related structures, the industrial enclosures are engineered for virtually any installation and system pressure.  Single and double wall systems are integrated with an access door system, silenced ventilation openings, structural support bases and a wide variety of surface finishes. Acoustic enclosures may be fully-assembled from the factory or shipped in components for final field assembly.

VAW Systems Light Industrial Rectangular and Elbow Silencers are specially designed to be flange mounted directly to a ducted air system or a general purpose fan. Lightweight Sheet Metal Construction and Flanged for simple installation.

VAW Systems flexible connectors or expansion joints provide an effective acoustical solution for fan connections that require isolation from the equipment vibration.  Acoustic flexible connectors will help meet occupational noise limits for workers in close proximity to the fan equipment.  Solutions include standard flexible connectors (silicone or EPDM liners), standard flexible connectors with a robust metal flow liner, or cavity pillow styles. The flow liner type connector prevents the flexible material from entering the airstream on a fan inlet and delivers significantly higher acoustic performance (Transmission Loss; dB) as compared to a standard connector. For optimal Transmission Loss, select VAW’s cavity pillow connector.  All VAW flexible connectors are built with high strength steel and durable liner materials.
