Wildlife Monitoring - GPS Collars

VECTRONIC Aerospace GmbH - Collars

The VERTEX PLUS collars are meticulously engineered for advanced wildlife research, offering modular designs to cater to specific study needs. Each collar comprises a standard GPS system alongside various sensor options, with the flexibility to add communication modules and external sensors, including UHF ID Tags. It supports comprehensive programming tools such as Virtual Fence and Interactive Programming. The collars can function as a simplified 'StoreOnBoard' version with limited capabilities. Equipped with a Drop Off mechanism, they ensure non-invasive retrieval. The 3D curved battery model, suitable for carnivores, boasts a high-capacity battery for extended use, deployed in species like black bears and tigers. The 2D oval model fits herbivores, tested in field animals like deer and bison. The lightweight 1D round model, ideal for carnivores with round necks, has been used on species like leopards and wolves. The 5D buckle fastener model provides easy attachment for cattle, while the 4D battery version, with an integrated camera, caters to behavioral studies of animals like horses and reindeer.

VERTEX - Collars

The VERTEX Lite collar is a tried-and-tested solution designed for efficient GPS tracking and monitoring of wildlife, tailored for mammals starting at 15 kg body weight. Leveraging VECTRONIC Aerospace's extensive experience in developing and manufacturing GPS collars, the VERTEX Lite collar provides essential features such as customizable battery size, various communication options including 2-way GSM and satellite communication, and a Drop Off mechanism for easy retrieval. The collar's lightweight design, starting at just 300g, and its compact housing make it a versatile and non-invasive choice for a variety of species. Users can choose from three different collar shapes, ensuring an optimal fit for different animal types, whether carnivores, herbivores, or equids. The VERTEX Lite can also operate as a Store On Board unit, acting as a data logger without remote communication, making it ideal for livestock and wildlife studies with high recapture rates. Data is easily downloadable via wireless options, fostering seamless data collection in the field.

VERTEX - Fusion Collars

Space Applications

VECTRONIC - Star Trackers

VECTRONIC Aerospace offers the VST-series, high-performance star trackers designed for small satellite applications with robust technical capabilities and radiation tolerance suitable for LEO, GEO, and even interplanetary missions. The VST-68M star tracker features a 1024 x 1024 pixel rad-hard CMOS sensor for direct and autonomous measurement of spacecraft attitude relative to the celestial reference system J2000. Its advanced CPU analyses star data using algorithms to eliminate noise and bright objects, ensuring accuracy. With a 75 mm focal length, it provides a 14°x14° FOV ensuring visibility of at least 16 stars. The VST-41M, equipped with a 512 x 512 pixel rad-hard CMOS sensor, similarly measures spacecraft attitude with high precision. With a 50 mm focal length, it also offers a 14°x14° FOV with at least 10 visible stars. Both models support quaternions and Euler angles for attitude information and feature independent asynchronous SCI interfaces with up to 1 Mbit baud rate and redundant CAN bus interface. The VST-41M further boasts a quick first acquisition time of 800 ms and operates at an update rate of 4 Hz with an accuracy of better than 18 arcsec, and a high probability of attitude acquisition under specific conditions.
