VEGEPOLYS, a competitiveness cluster based on Angers, federates companies, research and training centers, from upstream to downstream of the plant sector (production, agro-supply, agro-equipment, processing, distribution). VEGEPOLYS aims to set up and manage collaborative innovation projects resulting in the placing on the market of new products and services. The division thus contributes to the growth and performance of companies. VEGEPOLYS aims to be the referent in the following themes:

The global "Plant InterCluster" network coordinated by VEGEPOLYS and designed with 2 other French partner hubs (Qualiméditerranée, Terralia) and the Natureef network

The partners of its ecosystem (Technopoles, Chambers consular ...) Each year the pole supports or participates in the assembly of more than 50 projects, about 50 million euros invested per year. The cluster has an R & D center, with a team of 10 scientists, 800 m² of laboratories, 400 m² of greenhouses, 6 climate modules. It has access to high technology platforms with the scientific support of local partner research organizations. Expert in Plant Variety Creation, Plant Protection and Nutrition and Phytochemistry, the R & D center offers services in the context of individual or collaborative projects.

Certified "Proven for Cluster Excellence
In 2014, VEGEPOLYS was granted the Gold "Proven for Cluster Excellence" label by the ECEI (European Excellence Initiative). As the tenth cluster to get it, this label is granted until November 2016, date when the cluster will be audited again. This label rewards VEGEPOLYS`s actions and will increase its international recognition in order to support the European partnerships, projects and funding.
