AMBOSO - Disposable Activated Carbon Filters
This process involves a “condensation” of the solvent from the air on a “certain” solid surface (Van der Waals forces). The most frequently used solid surface is that of a high porous carbon mass known as “activated carbons” whose activity is directly proportional to the surface of its porosity, (just think that one gram of activated carbon can have a surface of up to 1250 m2 or even more). The solvent contained in the air to be cleaned is then “condensed” by capillarity, and held in the activated carbon. Hence the adsorption capacity is proportional to the activated carbon surface and is strongly influenced by many other factors such as: concentration of the VOCs to be removed, humidity, temperature, face velocity, contact time and particle size of the activated carbon.
AMBOSO - Activated Carbon Adsorption with Solvent Recovery
Physical adsorption on activated carbon. Volatile organic compounds (VOC), the above plant is particularly suitable for cleaning air containing just one solvent.
AMBOSO - Scrubbers Single Stage System
Wet collectors or scrubbers represent the oldest and simplest system of cleaning a contaminated airborne flow. The principle of operation consists in conveying the contaminated air into a chamber. Inside this chamber, thanks to suitable and widely differing technologies, an intimate contact takes place between the air and a certain quantity of water so that contaminants are transferred from the air into the water to the extent as to allow direct discharge of the air into the atmosphere with contaminant concentration within the allowable limits for the cleaned air.
AMBOSO - Venturi Scrubbers
Venturi scrubbers are based on the principle of atomization of the scrubbing liquid from the same gaseous flow containing the contaminant to be removed, which is forced to flow through one or more annular orifices, thus increasing its face velocity at that point by n times, and entraining the atomized water in virtue of the well known Venturi effect.
AMBOSO - Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers
I.T.R. is the name chosen by Amboso for its new regenerative type of incinerator plant with intrinsic heat recovery, i.e. a combustion system in which the heat energy is recovered inside the plant with the maximum possible efficiency. Compared with other abatement systems, the regenerative combustion unit (incinerator) is ideal for the incineration of any type of volatile organic compound in gaseous form also in low concentrations (chlorinated and non-chlorinated solvents, inflammable compounds, hydrocarbons, odours); furthermore it has the advantage of minimizing running costs and consumption of primary energy sources.
AMBOSO - Recuperative Thermal Oxidizers
The combustion process merely involves oxidation of the carbon (C-) and hydrogen (H-) atoms contained in the molecules of hydrocarbons and solvents to be burnt, whose exothermic reaction gives rise to the following products: carbon dioxide (CO2) and steam (H2O).
AMBOSO - Catalytic Oxidation Plants
Purpose of the plant is to clean and deodorize gaseous streams coming from industrial processes. Any combustion process is the product of the oxidation of organic molecules formed by atoms of carbon and hydrogen whose exothermic reaction gives carbon dioxide (CO2) and water vapour (H2O) as products.
AMBOSO - Concentration Systems
A new concentration and combustion system with regenerative heat recovery. Amboso has developed a fully automatic plant based on a concentration system for emissions through adsorption of the VOC on activated carbon and subsequent regeneration through heating, and desorption with hot air and combustion of the organic substances in a incinerator with regenerative heat recovery. With reference to the enclosed diagram: in this system the VOC-laden air is first filtered in collectors for the removal of any suspended solid particles, then it flows with motion from bottom towards top through filter units arranged in parallel, divided into various sectors and packed with adsorbent material.
AMBOSO - Coalescence Separator Systems
The following is the description of an DOP abatement system. Purpose of this plant is to remove and to recover the DOP present in a given volume of process gases and released (in our specific case) by certain conveyor belt coating and bonding lines during production. Industry in general often gives rise to process gases containing contaminating substances that are difficult to capture and disposed of. Moreover these fumes may not be discharged freely in the atmosphere. Hence it is also necessary to proceed to clean them in order to reduce the quantity of contaminants to below regulatory limit values or acceptable values for direct reuse in the production cycle.
AMBOSO - Self-Cleaning Reverse-Jet Bag Filter
This is an automatic fabric dust collector, designed for continuous duty (24 hours a day), with reverse flow cleaning of the filter fabric. It can handles air containing very fine dusts maintaining a fairly high capture efficiency, even in the case of particles with diameter less than l micron. When special fabrics are adopted, the dust collector can be used for maximum operating temperatures also up to 200°C. (glass fibres).
