Vincent - Continuous Dewatering Screw Presses

The CP/VP screw press handles materials often considered unpressable, accepts variable feed rates and has low operating and maintenance costs. These presses are most commonly used in, but not limited to, the following applications.

Vincent - Continuous Dewatering Screw Presses

The KP Series Screw Presses are our most popular, probably because of relatively low cost.  They are best suited for applications like produce waste, which requires less torque than offered by the VP and CP Presses.  The KP`s with screws up to 16` diameter use hollow bore gearboxes, while units larger than that use foot mounted gearboxes.  The screens are not quite as long.  Units 16` and smaller use one air cylinder instead of two to actuate the discharge cone, and they include the rotating cone feature.

Vincent - Twin Screw Presses

The Twin Screw Press is a machine in which two screws of progressively reducing pitch rotate inside a screen surface. Material entering the hopper is subjected to gradually increasing pressure as it moves toward the exit end of the press, forcing the liquid phase to extrude through the screen. High capacity continuous dewatering is possible with slippery materials such as spent grain, fruits and vegetables, citrus waste, fish, sugar beet pulp, and shrimp waste.

Vincent - Horizontal Shredders Machine

Shredders Can Improve Screw Press Performance. Frequently a screw press performs better if material is shredded before being admitted into the press. For that purpose Vincent Corporation offers a line of shredders. These are sized to bolt directly onto the inlet of Vincent screw presses. The Vincent shredder is a horizontal machine with a 180 degree discharge area on the underside. It is ideally suited to bulky materials, such as citrus peel, whole fruit, and produce waste.

Vincent - Fiber Filters

Featuring fine filtration of high gpm throughputs, the Fiber Filter is a unique machine. It operates continuously with a fabric filter that is vibrated clean by the process flow, requiring only occasional back-flush cycles. Liquid flows with fiber contents ranging from 0.3% to 1.5% are thickened to a range of 4% to 14% solids with the Fiber Filter. The filtrate liquid is remarkably clear. The Fiber Filter can replace equipment ranging from pre-thickening screens to centrifuges. Fiber Filters can be used both to thicken flow ahead of a screw press and to remove fiber from press liquor.

Vincent - Pulp Fluidizers

The Pulp Fluidizer was developed to enable pumping frozen blocks or chubs of fruit pulp while maintaining the highest level of flavor characteristics. The machine has found acceptance in fluidizing frozen pulp and pomace from both deciduous and tropical fruits. It is also used, as convenient, to liquify frozen juices in blending and not- from-concentrate operations. The unit is a premium machine in that blocks are fluidized with a very minimum of damage to cell and fiber structure. It is a double drum type fluidizer that turns at a relatively low speed (520 rpm). These two features assure minimum disturbance to the materials being fluidized. In the machine, product is reduced to a fluid state by mechanical means. No heat is added, and, with the addition of some water (or heat from another source), the product becomes pumpable.

Vincent - Static Screens (Sidehill or Parabolic)

Similarly, static (sidehill or parabolic) screens are manufactured. These are mounted over the inlet of a screw press when pre-thickening of the inbound flow is needed in order to optimize performance of the press. Two designs are offered, with long and short screens. They are available in widths from 18″ to 72″.  Wedgewire screens with various slot widths are used.

Vincent - Lime Dosers

Lime Dosers are used where adding hydrated lime (calcium hydroxide) causes a chemical reaction which releases water which can be separated by a screw press.  Orange peel, potato peel, and tomato waste are typical examples.

Vincent - Bare Screw Conveyor

Often the simplest mechanism gets overlooked. This should be kept in mind when devising the equipment to carry press cake away from a screw press, to pile press cake on a floor, or to load press cake into a trailer or wagon. As a rule either screw conveyors or belt conveyors are used to transport press cake away from a screw press. Generally it is desirable to drop the material in a windrow rather than a conical pile. Complicated mechanisms frequently are selected to achieve this elongated pile of material. In the case of screw conveyors a series of remote actuated sliding gate drop chutes can be sequentially programed. For belt conveyors there are traveling diverter dams that result in progressive dumping of material from the belt.

Vincent - Screw Press

Our Model KP-24 screw press has gained acceptance since its introduction in 2002. With a 24″ diameter screw, this is the now the second largest of the Series KP “soft squeeze” screw presses. The first machine was produced for rental to Lakeside Packaging, where it is currently used to dewater cornhusk and cob waste at a sweet corn cannery.
