The VisSim Vessel Traffic Management System functions as the heart of the VisSim Product Portfolio. The Vessel Traffic Management System gather target data from radars and AIS, integrates these data and presents target data overlaid on electronic maritime charts. The system is designed to fulfill and extend the IALA recommendations for a VTS system. The VisSim Vessel Traffic Management System consists of several modules and is scalable in design. Each customer has different requirements and the Vessel Traffic Management System is tailored to the customer needs for every project.

The VisSim CCTV digital surveillance system is easily installed and connected for local and (where required) distributed access. Compared with earlier analogue-based CCTV systems, digital video systems provide full flexibility for installation, processing of data and transmission. The system requires only a LAN cable and a power cable entering the PAN/TILT unit. The digital video and the control data is then transmitted via the network. Employing TCP/IP transmission eliminates the need for multiplexers or matrix switches, and reduces the amount of cabling significantly. Any PC with the VisSim CCTV Display software installed can view the picture and control the camera. There is no limit to the number of users viewing the picture from any camera.

The Oil Spill Detection module is based on raw video from commercial X-band radars, independent of the make. Preferable antenna size is 6ft or above. We started research in Oil spill detection and sea clutter analysis based on standard marine radars in 2002. The first development was a module for operator assisted oil spill detection. Then we developed a fully automatic solution, which will run as a “background” application in our VTS installations monitoring oil spills around oil platforms, in ports and along coast lines providing an early warning of possible oil spills for VTS operators. Later Oil Spills Detector program was extended with Wave Parameters Measurement module based on sea clutter analysis in X-band marine radar. This module can provide possible oil slicks detection and wave parameters measurement.

Researching in small target detection based on radar makes it necessary to search for targets inside the noise (clutter). In order to detect targets in such environments VisSim has developed an extensive library of pattern recognition and parameters analysis algorithms for studying of sea clutter. The above screenshot shows automatic waveheight detection from an installation on Norway`s west coast.

The VisSim Safety Trace monitoring is for situations when Firing Ranges and Weapon Testing Facilities have to live side by side with civilian. Surveillance and security is imperative for these types of operations. Irrespective of altitude Safety Zone Monitoring can deal with, but is not limited to, the following targets: Pleasure boats, Fishing, Private/Commercial Aircrafts and Helicopters.

By interfacing our sensors such as AIS, Radar and CCTV no movement will go without a trace.

The Vissim VSAT Dome is a product which enables design and installation of VSAT communication equipment in EX zone 1. The equipment inside the dome is standard components from independent suppliers which makes the product cost effective to purchase, install and not to forget, to maintain. The VSAT Dome is designed, engineered and manufactured at Vissim facilities.
