Due to its proximity to the primary aluminum industry for over 30 years, Von Roll has developed the right product range to meet all standards and custom technical protection requirements. Altherm® 660 is a composite material made especially for gaskets. Von Roll manufacture collector rings for commutators in electrical machines e.g. traction motors.

Solvent-based varnishes become less and less popular due to their solvent content and organic emission consequences. Nevertheless, due to their excellent stability in tanks, their versatile process ability and usually good technical performances, they will remain important in the future.

Epoxy systems are based on two components resins which are mixed on different proportion and cured either at room or high temperature. Different mechanical, electrical and chemical resistance properties can be achieved according to customer specifications. High thermal resistance class H (180°C) with excellent crack resistance to high temperature variation becomes a must in the growing electrical drive market. These resins become oustanding solution for any traction application in harsh environment.

Von Roll produces a complete range of enameled rectangular copper wires according to IEC 60317-0-2 and NEMA dimension ranges, with Grade 1 or Grade 2, according to IEC or Quad, Heavy builds according to NEMA. Duroflex^® / FormvarEnameled wire with a coating featuring outstanding mechanical properties, mainly for windings in oil transformers and electrical counters.

Von Roll offers a complete range of glass fiber-covered round copper wires. All Grades are available with a B-stage overcoat in the dimension range from 0.355 to 6.00 mm.
