After the sludge has been efficiently conditioned by the VA - Injector Mixer HPI, it flows onto the proven VA - Belt Filter Press through the new inlet box. Out of the inlet box the sludge is evenly distributed over the entire width of the statical dewatering zone. VA - Shifting Ploughs shift the sludge layer many times and thus substantially improve the filtrate removal. In the following, slightly gradient wedge zone, the sludge is embedded between the two filter belts. Then, the already pre-dewatered sludge is subjected to slight pressure. 

Thanks to a novel inlet chute, the sludge is distributed remarkably evenly onto the full width of the VA - BFP. Using proven VA - Shifting Ploughs, free filter areas are built constantly which enables optimal pre-dewatering. A large-diameter VA - T-Drum gently presses the sludge and prevents re-wetting. In the press zone, the sludge is optimally dewatered, using increasing pressures. In both communal waste water treatment plants and industrial plants (i.e. paper mills), VA - BFP achieves superior dewatering results. Out of the inlet box the sludge is distributed evenly over the entire width of the filter belt of the VA - Belt Thickener. VA - Shifting Ploughs shift the sludge layer many times and thus substantially improve the filtrate removal. At the end of the thickening zone the already thickened sludge is further compressed by a ramp. Subsequently, the thickened sludge is discharged into a sludge-hopper.

The VA - Injector Mixer HPI (high performance injector mixer) is our latest development for efficient and economical conditioning of sludges or slurries with an organic polymer or other flocculants. The VA - Injector Mixer HPI is a product of  asser + Abwassertechnik GmbH and has been successfully proven in more than 89 municipal and industrial applications (149 VA - Injector Mixers HPI - status quo September 2008).

Integral part of the VA - Spiral Conveyor is the shaftless spiral. Its constant quality is our prior concern - we use our supplier`s bespoke computer-supported manufacturing-program for its production. The spiral is made from special steel, other materials are available on request. The spiral glides in a U-shaped trough on an abrasive support, whose material is adjusted to its specific application (steel rails, plastic, special rubber). Thus, it is possible to support the conveyor from only one side - even with working lengths of up to 40 m per device.

In the preparation chamber the stock solution is prepared. In relation to the water flow polyelectrolyte is dosed via the powder polymer feeder o the liquid polymer dosing pump into the jet nozzle device. In the device the polymer is wetted with the required amount of dilution water. The dosing time required by the dry material feeder is calculated by the PLC according to the calibrated dosing capacity and the adjusted concentration.

The dilution station is designed for the dilution of the stock solution to the required dosing solution.

VA - POLYPREP can be operated using either powder or liquid polymer. Slowly running agitators made of stainless steel prepare a ready-to-use solution in the preparation and ripening chambers which is then discharged into the dosing chamber. From there, the solution can be withdrawn continuously. The whole process runs automatical ly and is controlled via a userfriendly TOUCH PANEL on the switch cabinet.
