Surveys and Mapping
Possessing accurate plans and records of your water and sewerage systems is an invaluable aid to planning, whether you are conducting routine maintenance, considering new works to extend your system, seeking resolution of operational issues or preparing for emergencies. Our surveys provide you with the key information you need. The location of pipe work and valves, confirmation of materials used and line and level of the pipes and sewers. Why not combine the survey with a water audit to provide you with recommendations for the improvement of your systems? An accurate survey showing line and levels of sewerage pipe work can reveal the likely causes of regular blockages and indicate the reason for poor operating systems.
Feasibility Studies & Project Costing
New schemes often represent significant capital expenditure. Before funds are committed to a project it can be valuable to establish whether the objectives of a scheme can be achieved, whether there are different ways to achieve those objectives and which of those ways is likely to provide the best return on the capital that you are proposing to invest. An understanding and consideration of the risks to be managed to maximise the chances of success of the project together with careful preparation of a system performance specification to achieve the scheme objectives, can save time and money in the delivery of an effective system. Our Engineers will set out the options to achieve your objectives and will establish whether these objectives can be cost-effectively achieved, providing budget costs for project options.
Design & Specification
Well designed systems: use water efficiently moderating use and saving you money, are easy to manage and operate reducing operational and maintenance spending, embrace the future minimising later capital spending on system enhancement, comply with regulations and standards, experience fewer operational interruptions
Consultation & Liaison
Keeping everyone in the loop: consultation combined with design and tender management make an easy and convenient package of work to simplify the procurement process for the client, saving time and money. New works can require consultation and liaison with several statutory bodies including the Planning Department, Building Control, Natural England, Environment Agency, Highways Agency as well as your local water company concerning new connections to their system.
Project Management
We offer a complete project management package. This may include the design and specification of the works, the preparation of tender documentation, management of the tender process, tender award, project management, installation and commissioning service, as required. The services offered are dove-tailed to fit with your existing resources. We are happy to supplement your existing in-house skills and capabilities to help you to ensure that your project is delivered successfully. This may include application for all of the necessary consents and approvals from the local Councils, the Environment Agency and other relevant bodies affected by the Project.
Risk Assessments
Loss of water supply, failure of supplies, contamination, poor water quality, loss of potability, un-wholesome supplies all present risks for the people that use or manage a water supply. Our engineers can provide you with assessments of your water system in relation to any of the issues that represent high risks to you or your business. In understanding the risks you are then able to manage and control them to limit their potential impact. Our comprehensive risk assessments can include site inspections, water analyses (such as temperature and water quality), a prioritised summary of the risks found, full report, development of a maintenance and control scheme and preparation of schematic diagrams as required.
Water Audit
A water audit provides you with a complete picture of the way that you use your water and generate sewage; providing you with insight on how the water use processes can be improved and better managed to conserve precious resources and reduce costs. The audit assesses the extent to which your system allows water to be used efficiently. The water efficiency report is a management tool identifying wastage and showing how systems can be subject to leakage or water loss. Whether you are using relatively small or very large volumes of water, considerable peace of mind comes with the knowledge that you are operating an efficient water system. You need to know that water is not being lost, wasted or misused. Our diagnostic service reviews water usage and your management systems to advise you upon the adequacy of your system and provide recommendations for improvements to the system.
Water Services
Our services also include water demand assessment, to permit the correct sizing of pipe work and similarly peak and average flow calculation to correctly size water meters. With your system set up correctly we will advise upon asset management. We have a range of water audit services to assist you in the management of your water system, see our water audits section.
Sewerage Services
The components of your sewerage system can be modified to improve performance; reducing the risks of failure or providing for infrequent events, such as heavy storms or peak of flow due to process events. Similarly, the quality of effluent can be improved through enhancements to the sewage treatment process.
