Grey water is wastewater released from domestic buildings that does not include sewage and fecal substances. It comes from washing clothes, dishes, and bath water. Grey water reuse and recycling has now become popular, because of environmental awareness and the ease by with which it can be reused. Grey water can be reused for non-potable purposes like irrigation, toilet flushing, etc.

Brackish water is water with salinity levels between seawater and freshwater. It usually occurs underground and in aquifers, when seawater or minerals dissolve in groundwater. Brackish water can be used as a resource for both potable and non-potable purposes, and is much easier to desalinate than seawater.
