Water Storage Tank Models - Roof Types
CorGal - Water Tanks with Standard 30-Degree Roof
The most common CorGal tanks in use are the tanks with 30-degree roofs. This standard tank consists of corrugated galvanized steel wall sheets with a 30-degree galvanized steel roof system. The standard 30-degree roof tanks are equipped with a geotextile preliner and a flexible membrane main liner for water containment. The corrugated high-rib roof (CHR) design is standard on all models 12′ diameter and larger. The 6′, 8′, and 9′ diameter models have a flat-seam (FS) roof as standard but the corrugated high-rib roof is available as an option. The 30-degree roof tanks are pre-engineered for water storage in a seismic zone 2B with a 90 MPH wind speed at a UBC Exposure C location. Roof snow load ratings are available for specific locations.
CorGal - Water Tanks with Low Profile 10-Degree Roof
Low-profile roofs are available for CorGal Tanks integrated into projects where the overall tank height is critical or for those projects whose owners prefer a less visible tank roof. The low-profile-roof tank is not a standard model. Each tank requiring a low-profile roof is custom designed for a specific site and purpose. Low-profile roofs are better suited to locations without heavy snow loads. However, low-profile-roof CorGal Tanks can be supplied with an interior center roof support pole and/ or reinforcing roof panel ribs for added support where larger roof loads are present. Center support structures also enable low-profile roofs to be available for large diameter tanks.
TimberTanks and TinyTimbers - Water Storage Tanks
TimberTanks are water storage tanks that combine the ageless beauty of wood with the durability of galvanized steel roofs and the modern technology of flexible membrane liners for water containment. Wood staves are custom milled to form a barrel shape and are banded together with galvanized steel bands to retain the circular shape. The galvanized steel roof incorporates factory formed and punched high rib roof panels which create a durable and weatherproof roof structure.
CorGal - Flat Roof Water Tanks
CorGal tanks are available with smooth galvanized steel flat roof systems where the overall height of a pitched roof tank may be a problem. Smooth flat roof tanks can be designed for most snow and wind loads. The smooth flat roof tank consists of an interior galvanized steel, formed joist support system covered with bolted galvanized steel panels and sealed with rope caulk between the panels.
CorGal - Inverted Roof Water Tanks
The most common CorGal tanks are available with inverted or funnel type roof systems. These tanks are often used to capture rain that falls directly onto the tank roof or to contain water that may be directed to the tank from a gutter, downspout or other water conductor pipe. A safety structure and debris filter is installed at the low point of the inverted roof CorGal tank. The safety structure will prevent a small child from falling into the tank. The debris filter will keep leaves, trash and animals from entering the water storage area of the tank. The inverted roof consists of multiple galvanized steel roof panels that are bolted together with a flat seam.
CorGal - Open Top - No Roof Water Tanks
CorGal tanks are available without a roof for those applications that do not need to protect the stored product from the sun. The no roof or open top tank consists of corrugated galvanized steel wall sheets only. The no roof tanks are equipped with a geotextile preliner and a flexible membrane main liner for water containment and these tanks are pre-engineered for water containment only. An exterior wind support ring is provided for 21′ diameter models and larger.
CorGal - Oversized Roof Water Tanks
Oversized roofs on tanks are a common practice to achieve a more aesthetically appealing roof line with water tanks. Often times this is done to match the profile of masonry or a stone wall covering the exterior of tank or to match the roof line of an existing building or structure. CorGal roofs are regularly used on structures that do not hold water in order to create a visual architectural impact. In fact, entire tank shells are a popular option for building enclosures and dwellings. Oversized roofs provide a soffit which also allows for unique and custom lighting options that a standard roof may not allow.

CorGal - Membrane Covered Roof Water Tanks
CorGal tanks are available with flexible membrane covers for those applications that do not require a pitched roof and where snow loads are not a concern, however the possible reflection off the roof of the tanks is a concern. The membrane cover tank consists of corrugated galvanized steel wall sheets with a round flexible membrane that is stretched across the top of the tank opening. The cover is pulled over the top edge of the tank wall and is secured with ropes to hooks that are bolted to the bottom of the top sheet. The membrane cover tanks are equipped with a geotextile preliner and a flexible membrane main liner for water containment. The membrane covered tanks are pre-engineered for water containment only.
