ClosureTurf is a final landfill closure system that exceeds Subtitle-D requirements, eliminates erosion and controls gas emissions. As a response to numerous failures and poor performance of environmental closures at landfills, engineers have studied new approaches to establish a more physically stable and environmentally sound solution. Traditional landfills require large amounts of soil throughout their lifespan and are often lacking adequate soil to complete closure construction. Many of these landfills experience on-going erosion and sedimentation issues. Traditional covers are highly reliant on trucking soils, heavy civil construction, on-going maintenance and repairs in order to maintain their integrity.

HydroTurf is an engineered revetment armoring solution specifically designed to manage concentrated, high velocity surface water flow. HydroTurf is an engineered revetment solution specifically designed to provide armoring of hydraulic structures against high velocity and shear stress. It offers the aesthetics of vegetation combined with better performance than traditional hard armor. It is also significantly less costly than other traditional methods. Construction of the system is rapid, low impact and scalable, reducing the carbon footprint. HydroTurf  provides an impermeable geomembrane protected by engineered turf which is infilled with HydroBinder, resulting in a fiber reinforced high-strength concrete matrix.

VersaCap is an erosion-resistant, reusable intermediate engineered turf cover that reduces operational headaches and allows for increased gas collection efficiency before final closure. Comprised of an engineered turf and permanently attached to a high strength polymer backing, VersaCap® is an aesthetically pleasing, intermediate cover for landfills designed to eliminate leachate production and erosion at the source while properly conveying gas emissions and improving gas collection efficiency. This dramatically lowers maintenance and operational costs over the life of the landfill.

TerraArmor serves to maintain the structural integrity of an MSE wall by covering the secondary reinforcement with an engineered synthetic grass. The system provides a UV-resistant and erosion resistant cover which functions to dramatically increase the longevity of the wall. The UV-resistant cover layer’s tufting density and the length of the grass pile are designed to drape and provide cover protection that both shields and shades the secondary reinforcement below. The synthetic grass has a composition of polyethylene synthetic yarns and engineered backing specifically designed for this application and can provide protection for more than 60 years.  Current installations of TerraArmor have dramatically improved the appearance and service life of retrofitted and newly constructed walls.
