Conveyor Technique - Equipment

Wessel - Metal Separators

The metal separators are fitted with a strong inner magnetic drum, which can separate the tiniest iron particles from the product stream. Depending on the kind of incoming material, the outer drum made of high-grade steel, or managese steel in the case of abrasive material, is used.

Wessel - Hammer Mills

The hammer mills are of robust construction and are, depending on the model, designed for a certain excess pressure so as not to cause any personal injuries in the event of possible deflagrations within the mill. Of course, this is also taken into consideration for the following conveyors.

Wessel - Conditioning Large Container

Conditioning takes place in large containers in front of the presses. The useable volume of the conditioning containers amounts to approx. 15 m³. This volume ensures a high time of direct contact in the conditioner and is crucial for the production of pellets with a high quality that meets the requirements. Conditioner discharge is the job of robust agitators, which are separated from the interior with a special sealing.

Wessel - Presse

The presses used by us are fitted with directly coupled motors and a single-stage gear. The presses used have an output from 2 - 5 t/h pellets, depending on the model, at a drive power of 160 - 355 KW. The robust execution of the roller and dies achieves service lives from 1500 to 2500 hrs and ensures an economical pellet production.

Wessel - Cooler

After pellet pressing the material is cooled down. This leads to hardening and the form stability of the pellets for their subsequent storage. The coolers, operated in the counter flow principle, ensure efficient cooling with a relatively low cooling air requirement.

Conveyor Technique - Technology

Wessel - Trough Chain Conveyors

The trough chain conveyors mainly used by us are twostrand chain conveyors with two parallelrunning chains. The drivers out of steel or even plastic are screwed to these chains. Wear is greatly reduced and shavings are largely prevented from getting between chain links thanks to the chain being guided with plastic rails above and below the chain.

Wessel - Distributor Screw

In the design of the screw shafts, we pay particular attention to sturdy support pipes with wall thicknesses of up to 12.5 mm and screw threads with plate thicknesses of up to 12 mm. In the standard version, the screw threads are continuously welded with the support pipe on the conveying side. In this way we achieve very high screw shaft stability. This guarantees high availability for the conveyor screws with an accordingly long service life. For the customer this means extremely low maintenance costs.

Wessel - Conveyor Screws

Conveyor screws are manufactured according to the case of application and customer requests. They can be manufactured in diameters of 100 - 1000 mm and lengths of 1 - 10 m. In general, normal steels, high-grade steels or even wearresistant manganese steels are used to produce the screws. The image shows a pipe conveyor screw in special execution, made of material 1.4301, for filling potato starch. The outputs when conveying sawdust range from 30 - 200 m³/h.

Wessel - Chain Conveyor

The pellets are extremely carefully conveyed thanks to the round trough form and the semicircular drivers, meaning that only a very low amount of abrasion is produced when conveying the pellets. The chain conveyors are manufactured in widths from 150 mm to 600 mm, with which an output of 5 to 80 t/h pellets can be achieved. Upward gradients of up to 40° are possible thanks to a special curved section. These conveyors are made of normal steels or high-grade steels.
