Western Excelsior`s Excel SR-1 Erosion Control Blanket (ECB) consists of a 100% certified weed free straw matrix stitched to a single net (top). Excel SR-1 is available with photodegradable, synthetic netting (Regular); rapid photodegradable, synthetic netting (Rapid-Go) or all natural, biodegradable netting (All Natural).

Western Excelsior`s Excel PP5-8 Turf Reinforcement Mat (TRM) consists of a matrix of ultraviolet stabilized, synthetic fibers stitched between two ultraviolet stabilized, heavy-duty synthetic nets. With a target weight of eight ounces per square yard, Excel PP5-8 provides sufficient thickness and durability to yield functional longevity greater than three years. The Excel PP5-8 is intended to provide immediate erosion control and long term turf reinforcement for the more severe slope and channelized applications.

Western Excelsior`s PP5-Heavy Duty is a continuously woven 2nd Generation Turf Reinforcement Mat (HP-TRM). The woven structure of the material provides improved durability, consistency and strength compared to stitch or melt bonded materials. Additionally, PP5-Heavy Duty offers improved resistance to hydraulically induced shear. Like all Western Excelsior products, PP5-Heavy Duty is made in the USA and may yield LEED credits for the end user. Western Excelsior manufactures Excel Straw Logs to provide sediment control and inlet protection. Utilizing 100% agricultural, weed free straw, Excel Straw Logs are manufactured in a variety of diameters and lengths. Excel Straw Logs are intended to be utilized on slopes to minimize displacement of in-situ sediments; in channels as small check dams and to restrict sediment laden flow from inlets.

In addition to a full line of Rolled Erosion Control Products (RECPs) and Sediment Control Products, Western Excelsior manufactures two mulch materials to be hydraulically applied. 100% Aspen Mulch consists entirely of aspen wood fibers. Aspen Turbo Mulch is a blend of wood fibers and recycled cellulose material. A natural or chemical tackifier may be added to the mulch when loaded for application to help bond the material to the ground surface. Further, both materials can be dyed to aid in tracking application. Mulch materials provide a minimum of erosion control and are best suited for small applications, low risk applications, or small areas where RECP installation is impossible.
