The Western States STM-3000 Top-Unloading Vertical Basket Centrifuge is the ideal solution for small scale processing. The STM-3000 is available with two different baskets: perforated and solid decanting. The perforated, stainless steel basket is available with an optional removable cap for easy bag removal. The solid decanting basket, fully machined and dynamically balanced, can also be equipped with a skimmer siphoning tube.

The Western States RINA 700 Horizontal Peeler Centrifuge is designed to provide total automation and efficient separation of solids and liquids for chemical and pharmaceutical applications. The configuration of the RINA 700 allows the process components to be separated from the mechanical components by a cleanroom wall to provide easy maintenance and sanitization.

The Western States STM-2000 Centrifuge is a portable, self-contained, centrifuge that is suitable for small batch processing. The STM-2000 can be configured as a filtering centrifuge or a decanting centrifuge. The STM-2000 Centrifuge is a low cost solution for processes that require only small quantities of material and/or are done infrequently where a full size installation is not practical. The portability of the STM-2000 allows it to be easily transported to the process area when needed and then stored out of the way when not in use.

Our MP PUMP (Massecuite Positive Displacement Pump) is designed to handle massecuites and magmas for the Sugar Industry. The MP PUMP is perfectly suited for viscous liquid applications.The MP PUMP’s throughput capacities range from 7m3/hour to 85m3/hour (247ft3/hour to 3001ft3/hour) at 65 rpm. Additionally, the MP PUMP is extraordinarily efficient, producing high outputs at low operating speeds – and is available in five sizes. With the ability to operate in either direction without changing stainless steel internal parts, the MP PUMP provides maximum versatility and durability.

Western States introduces the new Universal Discharger. The Universal Discharger has a new external cam design which allows for quick and easy adjustment – simply loosen and rotate Cams in four locations. The new Universal Discharger can replaces most dischargers currently on G8 machines. With the new Universal Discharger, adjustment time is decreased from four hours to 15 minutes. Assuming a machine produces one ton of sugar per cycle with 20 cycles/hour, customers gain 3.75 hours or 75 tons of additional sugar processed – a definite plus, for G8 users.

While the addition of final molasses to massecuite has been used before to reduce massecuite viscosity, the problem has always been the lack of thorough mixing due to differences in viscosity and flow properties. Another method employed involves the use of steam or water in heat exchangers or centrifugals, however its effectiveness is limited as hot spots and inadequate heat transfer in the former or very short contact time in the latter cause sucrose losses in final molasses and waste energy.
