Environmental Services
White Shield provides a wide variety of environmental studies, and industrial health, safety and hygiene services from initial planning through the design, development and construction stages of a project. Our environmental program is staffed by environmental, engineering, geological, industrial hygiene, and industrial health and safety experts who have many years experience helping our clients comply with the myriad of local, state, and federal regulations, as well as assisting with their environmental and natural resource issues.
Geographic Information Systems
Our GIS technicians are ESRI-certified analysts, database managers and developers, trainers, and AutoCAD users. We combine layers of data to analyze various aspects such as topographic features, man-made structures, buried utility lines, soil types, vegetation types, radiological data, property lines, easements, and other legal or public information onto a geo-referenced GIS map. We are able to provide our products either on paper or electronically in your choice of formats.Our GIS and CADD technicians are versatile and knowledgeable in utilizing geo-referenced field data, and incorporating the information in usable formats for architects, engineers, designers, constructors, environmental scientists, and government entities. They use a variety of GIS and CADD software including AutoCAD Civil3D, Bentley Microstation, and ESRI ArcInfo.
Geophysical Surveys and Investigations
Geophysics is a non-invasive, subsurface site characterization of geology, geologic structures, groundwater, contamination and manmade objects beneath the earth’s surface. Our licensed geologists are knowledgeable and experienced in working with ground penetrating radar (GPR), electromagnetics, and magnetics. They are able to provide the necessary geo-referenced information to locate utilities to avoid conflicts during excavation activities, and design or construction of new utility lines.
Machine Control Modeling
Automated Machine Guidance (AMG) allows heavy equipment operators to construct a road or site project by following an electronic 3D data model. It brings the design to the field, reducing construction time and public safety issues during the construction phase.The 3D model starts with the most detail and ends with the least detail from the plans. A roadway project is typically defined from plan, profile, typical section, super transition and cross-section information. By combining all of these elements together, the model provides accurate elevations for every square inch of the roadway.
