Wind Measurement International (WMI) products
Met Masts
WMI - Small Masts
The HM 10m Met Mast is specifically designed for background noise studies. The addition of a Second Wind anemometer, NRG windvane and our standard Campbell Scientific logger enclosure gives a reliable cost effective solution.
Wind Measurement
WMI Vector - Wind Anemometer
Anemometers are the basic instruments necessary for metering your site`s wind speed. For wind turbine projects, where 0.1 m/s difference in the long term wind speed can make the difference between a viable and unviable project, it is worth investing in good quality anemometers.
WMI - Loggers
Wind measurement international offers Campbell Scientific, Second Wind (Nomad 2) and Ammonit dataloggers, with Campbell Scientific being the preferred system.
WMI - Wind Vanes
A Wind Vane is a mechanical device which freely rotates to show the direction of the wind. The output is generally analogue but digital versions are also available. Good quality vanes are well balanced, respond well even at low wind speeds and have a small, well-defined dead band - The deadband refers to the ill-defined output as the wind direction changes from 360 to 0 degrees.
Ground Anchors
WMI - Drive-in Anchors
Four ground anchors are required to secure the eight to twelve guys supporting our small aluminium met mast. The ground anchors used are generally of the duckbill type, which are driven into the ground using either a manual drive rod or a breaker.
WMI - Rock Pin
For situations where it is necessary to insert rock pins we drill appropriate holes on site and grout rated anchor pins in place. After 24 hours curing at temperatures above 4 degrees Celcius the anchors are ready to test. pic.
