The need for improved sanitation and hygienic cleaning in the manufacturing process of food is growing every year. The FDA and USDA enforce this demand with the strongest focus on food equipment and food processing. Meyer offers a wide range of products ideal for the food processing industry. Our top rated Sanitary Airlock Feeders incorporate multiple modernizations for the food industry. They are specially designed for applications where frequent cleaning, sanitizing or inspection of the bulk handling system is required and minimum downtime is critical. Each Sanitary Airlock Feeder can be manufactured to meet NFPA explosion ratings while being FDA and USDA approved for operations. Additionally, increased accessibility of critical internal components, simplistic cleaning of valve internals eliminating contamination, water resistant exterior for high-pressure washing and quick dis-assembly/re-assembly for minimal downtime are just a few features of our Sanitary Airlock Feeders.
The manufacture of cement combines a variety of raw ingredients such as limestone, clay or shale. These raw materials are extracted from the quarry crushed to a very fine powder and then blended in the correct proportions. The resulting raw mix is fed into a cement kiln which heats them to extremely high temperatures of about 1400 C to 1500 C. The abrasiveness of the material is a major factor on the wear of equipment and the extreme high temperatures of the process require specialized equipment.

Over the years, plastics have become the most dominant engineering material for most products. All plastics are polymers; these polymers are further divided into two basic types: thermoplastics and thermosets. Extrusion can be used for thermoplastics. The raw material is in the form of pellets, granules, or powder. Meyer rotary valves are designed and engineered for dependable and reliable performance. The precision-engineered housing and rotor prevent material from getting jammed or sheared.
