Complete Floating Barrier Solutions
Tuffboom - Floating Barrier
TUFFBOOM was introduced to dam operators in 1994 under the original name of TUFFLOAT and later rebranded under the TUFFBOOM family of floating barrier products. From the first installation in California (USA), the TUFFBOOM name has become synonymous for high quality, effective debris control and public safety barriers in an affordable package. TUFFBOOM series booms are installed in over 63-countries enabeling dam safety engineers to reduce dam safety risks while increasing renewable hydroelectric power generation by deflecting floating debris away from trash racks and spillgate structures.
Odinboom - HDPE Floating Booms
ODINBoom HDPE floating booms are the next generation of barrier booms for dams and hydroelectric power plants. Worthington Products, Inc, the World’s leading floating boom barrier company was the first to bring this advanced co-extrusion technology to the large diameter floating barrier market. We are the industry first to offer a lifetime warranty in a marine barrier system.
ODINFloat - Spillway and Tailrace Boom – Boater Safety Barriers
Designing floating booms for use below dams in spillways and hydroelectric tailrace areas requires specialized knowledge that only comes with experience. Our first tailrace boom was installed in 1998 in Eastern Ontario. Since that humble start, we have combined detailed engineering and Flow-3D modeling with actual field observations of our tailrace booms and spillway boat barriers. The result are today’s ODINFloat, the most rugged, and durable floating barrier for the toughest challenges. You won’t find a more durable tailrace float and spillway barrier than the Worthington designed ODINFloat and here’s why.
Barrier Systems
Debris Master - Model BB20 - Floating Debris Barrier
The BB20 Debris Master series of floating debris barriers is the ultimate solution when floating debris and river trash must be stopped before it reaches your dam, intake structure, or ends up as floating ocean garbage. Each BB20 Debris Master floating debris barrier is precisely engineered to achieve your goals. Around the world, BB20 Debris Master booms contain floating islands of peat in Australia, massive river hyacinth flows in Malawi and acres of floating logs in Laos. You won’t find a stronger floating debris barrier.
TUFFSign - Safety Barriers for Low Head Dams
TUFFSign was developed to address the higher rates of fatalities and injuries at ungated overflow dams and especially at low head dams where a safety barrier with minimal debris retention is desired. Combining high quality floats with FERC Dam Signage. Needs signs in high flow rivers above low head dams, then TUFFSign is what you’ve been looking for. TUFFSign Floats were developed to address a need for signs on lakes and rivers where a boom line is not required and where standard buoys are too small.
Customized Barrier Solutions
TUFFBuoy - UV-Resistant Marine Buoys and Barrier Floats
Worthington marine buoys and barrier floats are made from UV-Resistant, rotationally molded polyethylene, foam filled with closed cell foam and available in multiple configurations and sizes. Augment any boom line with marker buoys and floats from Worthington.
