A bio-bed is a mixture of peat free compost, soil and straw (bio-mix) covered with turf that is placed in a lined pit. We offer a full bio-bed kit based on a standard size of 84m². The kit contains all of the equipment needed for installation; two submersible pumps, underlay, liner, filter and various sized pipes and fittings. Our bio-bed kits meet all regulations as we have worked alongside a consultant working for the environment agency setting standards for and designing bio-beds. We provide a design and advice service to meet customer’s needs.

A bio-filter uses the same bio-mix as a bio-bed but it doesn’t require turf, and it uses a series of bulk containers rather than a pit. A bio-filter is usually smaller than a bio-bed and would generally be built above ground.

Micro-organisms and pathogenic organisms can be destroyed through exposure to ultra violet light. A continuous cycle prevents these organisms from regenerating due to a breakdown in their DNA. During this process, no chemicals are added to the water guaranteeing it is an environmentally friendly treatment. Units can be mounted in normal pipe-work systems and are able to be single or multi-lamp and continuous monitoring is available to give an accurate and reliable indication of water quality. We can also provide thin film UV treatment for water samples down to 20% T10.

Wroot Water work alongside other contractors to drill boreholes and to undertake geological surveys. We are able to do the rest including removing old boreholes, replacing pumps and rising mains or supplying from new and we can also supply and install variable speed drives. We have the facilities to inspect boreholes by using a video camera to view the conditions within the well liner.

An AC Drive or Variable Speed Drive (VSD) is a device that can control the speed of an electric motor. Most conventional motors only run at full speed whereas a VSD-equipped unit means it can run at a variable rate. This allows the motor to drive a pump or fan at a speed appropriate to the requirements of the process.

Wroot Water uses Metos weather stations and we have been working with them for the last 10 years. Our aim is to provide our customers with a reliable and effective weather station that will yield top quality produce through provision and efficiency.

Rainwater harvesting involves the collection and recycling of rainwater that falls onto building roofs or concrete areas. A RWH system can be installed on a new-build or existing buildings and will usually involve the collection, diversion and storage of the water in a tank or reservoir. The pump size and filtration level varies depending on the end use of the water. RWH reduces the dependence on mains supply, rivers and groundwater sources.
